Beckenstein Continues to Build with Elimination of Costa

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Kohei Arai raised to 160,000 in middle position with QJ and Ruben Costa ripped all in for 1,250,000 on his left. Joshua Beckenstein flat-called in the hijack and the rest of the table folded including Arai.

Ruben Costa: KQAll in
Joshua Beckenstein: 99

It turned out to be a coin flip and the flop of Q92 left Beckenstein in firm hold with a set of nines. The 7 on the turn left Costa drawing dead to the 10 on the river.

Tumboli Four-Bets; Hendrix Hero Calls

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Zarvan Tumboli opened to 160,000 from middle position before Nicolas Enjamio three-bet to 525,000 on his direct left. Tumboli responded by making it 1,100,000 and Enjamio folded.

On another table, Adam Hendrix was facing a 700,000 river bet from Joseph Ozimok.

There was around 850,000 in the pot on the 723A5 board. Hendrix had checked from the big blind, before Ozimok made the bet from under the gun.

After a fair bit of thinking time, Hendrix called.

Ozimok tabled KJ for king-high. Hendrix had a pair of sevens with his J7 and took the pot.

Gonzalo Jose
Gonzalo Jose

Gonzalo Jose raised to 280,000 from middle position and was three-bet by Matija Kajtez to 850,000 from the hijack. Daniele Primerano folded pocket tens in the big blind, but Jose jammed for 2,670,000. After thinking briefly, Kajtez called.

Gonzalo Jose: AK All in
Matija Kajtez: QQ

Jose found himself in a flip with Big Slick against the queens of Kajtez. Jose stood up as the dealer put out the 856 flop, keeping Kajtez's Ladies in the lead. The 7 turn offered up some chop outs, but the 8 river was a brick. Jose wished everyone good luck and headed to the nearest exit.

Daniele Primerano
Daniele Primerano

Nazar Buhaiov raised to 160,000 under the gun and Daniele Primerano jammed for 705,000 from the button. Buhaiov got an exact count from the dealer before making the call.

Daniele Primerano: AJ All in
Nazar Buhaiov: 99

Primerano was one of the shortest stacks remaining in the Main Event and needed to win this flip to keep his dreams of becoming a world champion alive.

The board ran out 9646Q to give Buhaiov a boat on the turn, and meant Primerano was the next casualty on Day 6.

Richard Buckingham
Richard Buckingham

On the river of a Q108K3 board, Richard Buckingham bet 250,000 from the big blind. Chahn Jung then opted for a raise to 925,000 in the under-the-gun position and that sent Buckingham into the tank. He eventually called and Jung showed his AK, which Buckingham had beat with the QJ.

"You either have ace-king with spade or not," Buckingham concluded while raking in the pot and added "that was a very good raise":

Richard Freitas

Tomohiro Tamano raised to 160,000 in early position before Richard Freitas three-bet to 475,000 in the cutoff. Tamano called and they went heads-up to the Q103 flop.

Freitas then continued for 325,000 and Tamano came back with a raise to 700,000. Freitas called.

Tamano bet another 600,000 on the K turn and Freitas tanked for several minutes before emerging with an all-in shove for 1,925,000. Tamano snap-called.

Freitas turned over AJ for the nut straight. "Wow," Tamano said as he revealed 1010 for a set. Tamano needed the board to pair on the river, but he missed the A and Freitas doubled up.
