Skhulukhiya Gets Value With Aces

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Giorgii Skhulukhia
Giorgii Skhulukhia

Giorgiy Skhulukhiya limped in from the small blind with AA and Jose Bogarin checked his option in the big blind with K5.

Both checked the 997 flop to the K turn, where Skhulukhiya bet 225,000 and Bogarin called.

When the 8 hit the turn, Skhulukhiya wasted no time in putting out a bet of 525,000, and after a two-minute tank, Bogarin paid it off with his king.

Not long after that, Sergio Veloso opened 77 from early position to 240,000 and Skhulukhiya defended 86 in the big blind.

The flop came 4QQ and a bet from Veloso did the trick as he won the pot. Ihab Ali also just joined the feature table with a healthy stack of almost eight figures.

Nut Flush vs Boat for Correia

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Ruben Correia
Ruben Correia

In a heads-up pot on a board of J8J65, Ruben Correia bet 2,000,000 and Braxton Dunaway raised all in to put Correia to a decision for the rest of his stack.

Correia called off for a total of 5,725,000. Dunaway showed the ace-high flush with A7, but it was no good against the full house of 88 Correia for a big double.

Controversy Erupts as Kajtez Shoves the River on Grupp

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Matija Kajtez bet 450,000 from the button on a board of 8KK5 and Kyle Grupp called in the big blind.

The river came the K and Kajtez moved all in for 2,650,000. Grupp spent several minutes in the tank before the clock was called, and here is where controversy erupted.

The tournament official counted down to zero and declared Grupp's hand dead. But just as he was saying "dead hand," Grupp put the chips in to call. The table argued over whether Grupp's call should stand, and some more officials had to be called over to make a ruling.

It was eventually determined that Grupp would be allowed to call, but the hand proved anti-climatic as they both showed an eight for a full house to chop the pot.

Gibbons Jams on Power & Hesse

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
William Gibbons
William Gibbons

Paul Gibbons raised to 250,000 under the gun with AJ and Chad Power called the button holding KJ. Stephen Hesse defended his big blind with J8, and they went to the flop three ways.

Hesse checked the AQ9 flop, which allowed Gibbons to bet 400,000. Power and Hesse came along.

Hesse checked once more when the 4 rolled off on the turn, and Gibbons quickly jammed for 2,175,000. Power snap-folded, but Hesse took a little longer to let go of his cards and give up the pot to Gibbons.

"I'm all in. It's 60-40," Mounir Tajiou shouted out to his rail as he got his last 800,000 in the middle from the button and John Wasnock called in the big blind.

Mounir Tajiou: K7 All in
John Wasnock: A10

Wasnock remained in the lead with his ace on the 52Q2 board, but Tajiou spiked the 7 on the river to make two pair and earn the double up.

Merson and Bogarin Both Flop Top Pair

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Greg Merson limped in with AQ from middle position and Derek Sudell also called from the hijack with K10. Jose Bogarin checked his option in the big blind with Q6.

They saw a flop of 87Q, which checked around to the 2 on the turn. When it got to Merson, he fired out 700,000 and only Sudell called.

A A on the river brought in the front door flush draw, but neither player held a spade in their hand. Merson went with a sizing of 1,300,000, which drew a quick fold out of Sudell.

Kasic Shows a Bluff; Jackson Doubles

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Sejo Kasic
Sejo Kasic

Eric Afriat opened to 255,000 from early position. Tomas Szwarcberg and Sejo Kasic called from the blinds.

Afriat continued for 240,000 on the KJ6, and was called in both spots.

He then fired out another 800,000 on the 5 turn. Again, Szwarcberg and Kasic called to set up a massive pot.

The 10 completed the board. Szwarcberg checked before Kasic jammed for 4,900,000. Afriat asked for a count, but decided to fold. Szwarcberg also returned his cards to dealer. Kasic was asked to show the bluff, and he complied by tabling A10 for just a pair of tens.

Afriat then jokingly told Kasic "Don't quit your day job," before adding that he folded ace-king.

On the next deal, Benjamin Williams raised from the hijack and called when Ben Jackson jammed for 1,000,000 from the cutoff.

Jackson's queens held to double following the 42K108 runout.

Alper Sticks In His Last Chip

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Steven Alper bet 1,050,000 from the big blind on a board of 6473 and Joey Padron called on the button, as did Michael Garner in the small blind.

Alper had one 5,000 chip behind going to the A river and tossed it in. Both Padron and Garner called.

Padron turned over J8 for a flush and Alper mucked 54. Garner also mucked 33 as Padron took the pot to send Alper to the rail.

Awful Flop Ends Tenorio's Tournament

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Alen Tenorio
Alen Tenorio

Alen Tenorio made it 250,000 from early position before Murilo Milhomem three-bet to 700,000 from the next seat. When it got back to Tenorio, he four-bet jammed for 4,210,000, and Milhomem called to put him at risk.

Alen Tenorio: AA All in
Murilo Milhomem: KK

Tenorio found himself on the right side of a cooler and was poised to double-up to almost nine million. But, the 66K flop was a disaster, as Milhomem flopped a boat to take a commanding lead and left Tenorio on the brink of elimination. The turn came the 10, and the river the 2. Tenorio wished everyone good luck before making his way out of the tournament area.

Minghini Three-Bets the Flop With a Set

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Jarod Minghini opened 88 from middle position and Kenny Hallaert defended his big blind with 106.

They saw a flop of 938, where Hallaert checked and Minghini bet 250,000 with his set. Hallaert put in a check-raise to 800,000 with a gutshot, and Minghini three-bet to 1,900,000. Hallaert snap-folded.

Shortly after, Sergio Veloso raised the button with K9 to 240,000 and Greg Merson looked down at AK in the big blind and made it 1,300,000. Veloso quickly gave it up.
