Arai Doubles Through Merson

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Greg Merson limped in from under the gun holding AQ, and the action folded around to Kohei Arai in the hijack. With just 2,500,000 behind, Arai moved all in holding 77, and Merson made the call.

Arai was ahead with his pocket sevens, and the 63J flop kept him in front and also gave him a flush draw. The 9 turn was also safe, but the A river paired Merson, only to complete Arai's flush.

What looked like a brutal beat for Arai turned into a much-needed double-up.
