Willis Hits the Crazy Eights

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

William Smith limped from middle position, and Troy Vandelden raised to 300,000 from late position, leaving himself just 60,000 behind. Izotov Pavel in the small blind raised pot, and Daniel Willis called from the big blind as did Vandelden for his remaining 60,000.

The flop came 463 and Pavel checked to Willis, who bet out for 800,000, which was enough to put Pavel all-in. Pavel folded.

Troy Vandelden: AJJ2All in
Daniel Willis: A864

Vandelden had flopped the nut flush but had to dodge outs. The 8 on the turn gave Willis three pair, and then the miracle 8 peeled off on the river and gave Willis runner-runner full house to send Vandelden to the rail.
