Phua Doubles Through Zamani in Humorous Fashion

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Martin Zamani opened the cutoff to 100,000 before Tzai Wei Phua jammed for 215,000 from the button and it folded back to Zamani.

"I wonder what I have?" Zamani joked as he raised his cards in front of his face for, apparently, the first glance. He saw a jack and announced call.

Tzai Wei Phua: A5 All in
Martin Zamani: J7

The AJ3 flop gave both players a piece as Zamani laughed at the situation. The board ran out 108 and Phua held on for the double.

Frankland (Virtually) Shoves on Julius

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Mathew Frankland from under the gun and Kyle Julius from the big blind were in a hand with the board reading A96Q on the turn. Julius checked to Frankland who put in a bet of 240,000 into a pot of just under 350,000, and Julius called.

On the K river, Julius checked for a final time to Frankland who burned through a time bank before he announced a bet of 625,000, leaving himself 50,000 behind. After a small tank, Julius let it go and Frankland scooped one without showdown.

Zamani Continues to Apply Pressure Near Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Christopher Nguyen opened the action with a raise to 80,000 under the gun, and Alex Kulev called from the cutoff. Martin Zamani, following a series of blind opens, just called, as he wasn't given the opportunity to repeat his MO. Alex Foxen came along too, as he defended his big blind.

The flop came down JJ5 and action checked all the way to Zamani. He opted to bet out for 140,000, and received three folds. When folding, Kulev showed the Q. Zamani showed the 8

On the flop or 233, Julius check-called a bet of 60,000 from Gumz.

Fabian Gumz: KK All in
Kyle Julius: 44

The river peeled off an A and Julius' full house was good for the pot while Gumz took his leave from the tournament just shy of the dinner break.

Jesse Lonis: 99 All in

Find Out Why Shaun Deeb Gives Away All of His WSOP Gold Bracelets

Level 16 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

There’s no denying that Shaun Deeb is a future Poker Hall of Famer. Whether you know him from his online poker days, where he won more than a dozen COOP titles on PokerStars, or as the 2018 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Player of the Year, Deeb has amassed nearly $13 million in live tournament earnings dating back to 2006 according to The Hendon Mob.

Deeb, who in February 2024 accepted a buyout in his $1 million body fat loss prop bet against Bill Perkins, is also a six-time WSOP gold bracelet winner, but did you know that just like Phil Hellmuth, he’s made a habit of gifting them to those close to him?

PokerNews recently chatted with Deeb about why he gives away his bracelets, which ones he’d keep if he were to win them, and why giving away No. 6 to honor his good friend, the late Thayer Rasmussen, meant so much to him.

Minko Picks Off Macchia

Level 17 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Michael Macchia opened from the cutoff and was called by Vladimir Minko on the button and Xiaoyao Ma in the big blind.

On the AQ6 flop, Ma checked to Macchia who continued for 75,000 and only Minko called.

Macchia fired again for 130,000 on the 7 turn and Minko called once more.

On the 7 river, Macchia fired a third barrel for 250,000 and Minko called after a small tank.

Michael Macchia: KJ
Vladimir Minko: AJ

Minko made the right call with top pair against the missed flush draw and gutter of Macchia.

Smith Chops to Almost Triple

Level 17 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Punnat Punsri opened the action with a raise to 100,000 from the hijack. Dan Smith called all in for his remaining 30,000 in the cutoff, and Manuel Fritz defended his big blind.

On a flop of A59 Fritz checked over to Punsri, who opted to bet just 50,000. Fritz check-raised to 175,000, and Punsri folded.

Dan Smith: A2 All in
Manuel Fritz: A4

The A7 runout meant that the two chopped the pot, and Smith saw what was possibly the start of a slow spin-up.
