Liu Doubles Through Matakis

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ian Matakis raised before Tian Liu jammed for 23,000 and was called by Matakis to go to a showdown with Liu at risk.

Tian Liu: A4All in
Ian Matakis: 99

Liu was considerably behind heading into the runout, but the flop changed that when it fanned out AQ4.

Matakis was drawing thin to retake the lead after the flop, but the turn made it so he was drawing dead as it came the A to give Liu a full house.

The meaningless 2 on the river peeled off to give Liu the double-up.

In a preflop confrontation Adrien Favre-Felix was all in from the small blind for a bit under 30,000 and up against Dong Chen who covered him from the button.

Adrien Favre-Felix: A10 All in
Dong Chen: 88

The 78J2K runout gave Chen a set of eights to eliminate Favre-Felix and add more chips to his stack.

Kobayashi Doubles

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

After losing a large portion of his stack in a previous altercation, Kobayashi found himself very short-stacked and in the small blind.

Fabian Niederreiter raised to 2,100 from the cutoff, and Kobayashi moved his remaining 4,500 into the middle. Only Niederreiter called, and the cards were flipped over.

Hirokazu Kobayashi: AQ All in
Fabian Niederreiter: QJ

There was no bad beat story to be had for Kobayashi as the board ran out 98652, giving him a full double-up.

Coleman Pushes Weissman Out on River

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Approximately 4,000 was in the middle on the board of AJ4 when Joey Weissman bet 2,000 from the cutoff.

David Coleman responded with a raise to 9,000 from the small blind position. Weissman called to send them to a turn.

Coleman kept up the pressure with a bet of 8,700, and Weissman stayed in the hand with a call.

The A led to a bigger bet of 34,000 from Coleman. Weissman gave it considerable thought, but opted to fold to award Coleman.

Kobayashi Left on Fumes

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action started with a raise from the player in the cutoff to 2,000, before Mike Watson three-bet to 7,500 from the cutoff. The action then folded to the big blind, Hirokazu Kobayashi, who put in a cold four-bet to 23,000. The original raiser folded, but Watson made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of 497 and Kobayashi started with a check. Watson responded by placing a bet of 12,500, which Kobayashi then check-raised to 33,000. Watson called, and the two took a turn.

The 2 hit the turn, and Kobayashi moved all in, covering Watson's stack of 54,800 by a whisker. A dismayed Watson made an unhappy call but was shown good news.

Mike Watson: QQ All in
Hirokazu Kobayashi: AK

The river brought no help for Kobayashi, who sent the majority of his stack across the table to Watson, leaving him just 4,500 left to rebuild from.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Lei Yu was the first to act and raised it to 2,100.

Yu gave it some thought before he pumped it up to 14,300, which led to a prompt fold from Rodriguez to end the hand preflop.
