Daniel Negreanu, looking to finish strong at the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP), made one of his trademark hero calls on Day 2 in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max event.
The GGPoker ambassador made a difficult call for his tournament life on the river, calling it off with a marginal holding. But he trusted his instincts to stay alive, something he's done countless times in his Hall of Fame career.

Martins Adeniya kicked the action off with a raise to 8,000 from the hijack. One seat to his left, Eric Wasserson responded with a three-bet all in for 58,000. The action folded back to Adeniya, who made the call.
Eric Wasserson: J♠J♣
Martins Adeniya: K♥K♦
The window card was immediate relief for Wasserson, as the dealer spread a J♦8♦10♣ flop.
There was no reprieve for Adeniya as the board ran out 10♥ on the turn and 5♥ on the river.

Max Neugebauer: A♦J♣
Tzur Levy: A♣10♠
Neugebauer stayed ahead on the flop of Q♦4♥A♥.
The 8♥ turn and the 5♣ river did not change the state of the hand as Neugebauer scored the double.

Brian Luo opened from the cutoff and Daniyal Gheba three-bet to 22,000 from the button. Luo four-bet to 50,000 and Gheba called.
Both players checked the K♠3♦8♣ flop leading to the 2♦ turn. Luo bet 52,000 and Gheba called before the two players checked the J♣ river.
Luo had A♥5♦ for just ace-high and a missed gutshot. Gheba showed A♦8♦ for third pair to take the pot.

In the 906th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway, Kyna England, and Mike Holtz are back at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to discuss the latest news and highlights from the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP), including Daniel Negreanu suggesting that poker players shouldn't hesitate to call the clock on other slow-acting players.
Other stories include Will Kassouf being back in the poker spotlight, for better or worse, as well as how the PokerNews Podcast crew did in the 2025 WSOP Main Event. Hint: Kyna, who is now representing Tilted Compass, did an interview with Jeff Platt while Chad got pulled up on the PokerGO live stream. They also highlight Shaun Deeb capturing his seventh bracelet and setting himself up to win POY, Nick Ahmadi taking down the PokerNews Deepstack Championship, PokerGO founder Cary Katz claiming his first bracelet, and Chris Moneymaker winning another Moneymaker Tour title.
Finally, Maria Ho talks about releasing Pokerriculum (viewers/listeners have a chance to win a free copy of the game), and an update on the PokerNews Podcast Fantasy League between Mike, Chad/Kyna, Joey Ingram, and Christina Gollins.
A new PokerNews Podcast will drop twice a week during the 2025 WSOP every Thursday and Sunday at 8a PT / 11a ET / 4p UK time. Remember to subscribe to our YouTube channel so you do not miss an episode!
Benny Glaser started the hand with a raise to 16,000 from the small blind, and was called in the big blind by Davide Suriano.
The action checked through the flop and turn on the 7♠7♦10♥Q♠ runout.
Glaser checked again on the 8♥ river, but Suriano decided to bet with a wager of 25,000. Glaser folded to award the pot to Suriano.
