Chen Dodges Aces but Clemente Runs Into Them Full Force

Level 30 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Ian Simpson raised from under the gun to 320,000, Andrew Ahn three-bet to 950,000 from the cutoff, Daniel Clemente five-bet all in from the button for 1,402,000, and Nan Chen took some time before eventually folding. Simpson also folded.

Daniel Clemente: AK All in
Andrew Ahn: AA

The board ran out with 8AQ710, and a set of aces was enough to eliminate Clemente and give Ahn a chip boost. Chen informed the table that it might have been a sick hand if he had called, as he held two queens and would have flopped the lower set. The table was in awe that he folded.

Ian Simpson

When the action folded to Ian Simpson, he moved all in for 1,575,000. Only Daniel Clemente made the call, doing so from the small blind.

Ian Simpson: A10 All in
Daniel Clemente: AQ

It was an unenviable position for Simpson, who was at risk and dominated.

The flop offered no help, coming down 722. The turn changed things, though, as Simpson took the lead with the 10.

The river J kept Simpson's lead intact, seeing him earn a full double up.
