Waikem Doubles With a Full House

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Craig Waikem checked from the small blind on the 2695 turn, and Stoyan Madanzhiev fired 70,000 from the big blind. Waikem made the call.

When the 5 paired the board on the river, Waikem led for 150,000. Madanzhiev paused only briefly before jamming, putting Waikem to the test for his remaining 212,000. Waikem flicked in a chip to call.

Madanzhiev sheepishly tabled A9 for just a pair of nines, but had been second best the whole way against Waikem's 22 for a full house.

The 54A flop led to a check from Crivell. Pinson followed with a bet of 26,000, and Crivell called.

Both players passed on the 9 turn to usher in the 10 river.

Crivell put together a big stack of chips and fired 110,000 on fifth street. Pinson gave it some thought before he chose to fold to award the pot to Crivell.

Tame Thomason Wins a Pot

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Terry Thomason bet the AA6 flop for 17,000 and Lee Chau called before the 9 turn was checked behind by Chau. After the K river, Thomason checked again and Chau checked behind to get shown the AK for the nuts, aces full of kings, for Thomason to win the pot.

There are fewer than 40 eliminations to go until the money spots, and the action has slowed down significantly.

"Slow Roll?..."

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Terrance Reid opened from middle position and Erick Mossinger three-bet to 38,000 from the cutoff. Reid called, and the players saw the 672 flop.

Reid check-called a 30,000 bet by Mossinger and the 10 was turned. Both checked to the 3 river and Reid bet 15,000. Mossinger took some time, and Reid started talking to him about the action. "Watch him raise over me, punish me..." Mossinger responded, "No, I think you deserve it!"

Mossinger eventually said, "I'll give it to you", and called. Reid showed J10 and Mossinger looked at the face up cards. He didn't move his hand straight away and Reid asked, "Slow Roll?..." Mossinger then pushed his hand into the muck and Reid picked up the pot.

What Is the Threshold?

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Brian Wood
Brian Wood

As the dealer was distributing the cards to the table, Craig Varnell was asking Brian Wood what his threshold would be for calling all in so close to the end of the day.

"What would you do with pocket jacks?" he asked.

"Snap-fold", Wood replied.

"Thanks for the information", Varnell closed with.

Wood then got dealt his two cards and opted to limp in from the hijack.

Pierre-Alexandre Lessard raised to 18,000 in the small blind, which Varnell called in the big blind, and Wood called too.

The dealer spread a 52Q flop, and the action checked to Wood, who bet 30,000. Both Lessard and Varnell snap-folded, and Wood showed that, having just had the conversation, he had been dealt JJ.

"When I looked down at the hand, I thought, I better shut up", Wood said after pulling in the pot.

Lessard and Varnell then both confirmed that all the jacks were dead, after sharing that they each folded ace-jack.
