Pustina Takes One Down

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Vamerdino Magsakay opened to 500 under the gun, and Jimmie Lucero put in the call from the hijack. Vlastimil Pustina then put in a three-bet to 3,000, and only Magsakay called.

On the JJ8 flop, Pustina continued for 1,300 and Magsakay put in the call. The turn was the A and this time Pustina sized up, with 6,600 his chosen sizing. Magsakay quickly folded.

Ladies Help Straver Chip Up

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Johannes Straver raised to 500 from under the gun, and Sarkis Akopian three-bet to 1,500 from the next seat. Straver called to see the 823 flop.

After Straver checked, Akopian fired a continuation-bet of 2,000. Straver called.

The 8 turn checked through before the 3 completed the board. Straver led out for 5,800, and Akopian made the call.

Straver tabled QQ for an overpair, and Akopian mucked.

Burnam Gets His Wish

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Igor Pansovoi opened to 400 from middle position and Matthew Burnam three-bet to 1,500 from the hijack. Action folded back to Pansovoi, and he topped up his chips to make the call.

Before the flop was dealt, Burnam said, "I'll take an eight now... an eight and I win."

The dealer fanned the 248 flop, and Pansovoi checked. Burnam said, "Okay...I called the card," and moved out 2,000. Pansovoi mucked and passed the pot to Burnam.

Pansovoi continued by saying, "You think I was lying?... I wasn't lying," and showed a single card from his hand, the 8.

Zhou Keeps Firing

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Maximilliano Castagnini got the action started with an open to 600 from early position. Guangyu Zhou called from middle position before Daewoong Song came along with a call from the hijack. Sam Snead Sweilem joined with a call on the button, and Joshua Palmer defended his big blind to create a five-handed pot preflop.

The AK6 flop was checked by Palmer. Castagnini continued for 1,000 before Guangyu Zhou made the call. Song and Sweilem folded, but Palmer was not done with the hand and made the call.

The 10 turn led to another check from Palmer. Castagnini slowed down with a check on the turn. Zhou took the initiative with a bet of 3,000. Palmer called, while Castagnini folded.

Palmer knuckled a third time on the Q river before Zhou bet 5,500. Palmer surveyed the situation before he mucked his hand as Zhou took down the pot without a showdown.

Seiver Finds the Dream Start to His Main Event

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Three ways to the K54 flop with around 8,400 in the pot, Sarkis Akopian checked from middle position and Jiafeng Lin fired an overbet of 10,000 from the cutoff. Scott Seiver was next to act on the button and committed all of his 53,900 into the middle. Akopian folded, but Lin put in the call for most of his stack.

Scott Seiver: AK All in
Jiafeng Lin: K7

Seiver was at risk but held a huge lead with his ace-kicker, and only a brutal runout would end his Main Event quest early.

Lin was drawing dead after the A turn gave Seiver two pair, making the 7 river irrelevant as it improved Lin to the inferior two pair.

Seiver doubled to almost two starting stacks, while Lin was left with around 10,000.

Early Pressure from McMurray

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Seeing a raise to 400 from under the gun and one call ahead of him, Floyd McMurray followed suit in the hijack and called too. Steven Stillman then put in a three-bet to 1,400 from the cutoff, which all three players called.

The action checked to Stillman on a J78 flop, who continued with a bet of 1,200. The original raiser and caller folded, but McMurray responded with a check-raise to 3,000, which Stillman called.

McMurray put another 3,000 in on the K turn, and this time Stillman elected to let go of his cards.

A Smirk and a Check Back

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Hiroki Nawa limped in from the small blind and called when David Neiman raised to 600 in the big blind.

The action checked down to a 6A359 river.

When Nawa checked for a third time, Neiman smirked before checking back and tabling a rivered set with his 99.

Nawa flashed the K before sending his cards back to the dealer.

Seaman Folds Out Fragoso

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Robert Seaman got the hand started with an open to 600 from middle position before Francisco Fragoso called on the button to send them to a flop.

The 83A flop led to a check from Seaman before Fragoso fired 1,300. Seaman stayed in with a call.

Both players checked the 5 turn, which brought the 9 river.

Seaman threw out a red chip for a bet of 5,000. Fragoso bowed out with a fold as Seaman took a small pot from Fragoso.

First Elimination of the Main

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Ryan Sands
Ryan Sands

The hand was recounted to PokerNews by multiple players at the table.

Following an open, Anthony Marini three-bet to 1,500. Ryan Sands then made it 3,500 to go, only for Marini to make it five bets with a raise to 7,500. Sands moved all in, and Marini made the call.

Anthony Marini: AK All in
Ryan Sands: AA

According to the table, the flop came KxXxXx, giving Marini two outs to crack the rockets. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't do so on the brick-brick runout, and he became the first casualty of the 2026 Main Event.
