Hardie Sends Liu Deep Into the Tank With Massive River Shove

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Sasha Liu
Sasha Liu

After John Hardie bet on the turn with the board showing 10549, Sasha Liu check-raised to 600,000 in early position and Hardie called in middle position.

The river was the 7 and Liu bet another 600,000. Hardie then raised all in.

Liu had around 700,000 behind and went deep into the tank. A host of cameras and curious onlookers began to gather around the table as the minutes ticked by. Nearly 10 minutes elapsed before a tablemate called the clock, and Liu allowed her countdown to nearly hit zero before she called.

Hardie showed 99 for a set, and Liu tossed 97 into the muck as she gave up the massive pot and headed for the rail.

Arman Bezhanian

Dutch Boyd raised to 50,000 on the button and faced a three-bet to 175,000 from Arman Bezhanian in the big blind. Boyd responded with a four-bet to 375,000, but was then put in the blender by Bezhanian, who five-bet jammed, having Boyd's 1,285,000 stack covered.

After several minutes passed, Boyd called, and the cards were tabled.

Dutch Boyd: AK All in
Arman Bezhanian: AJ

Both players stood up from their seats to watch the runout, with the eventual 1062A2 board keeping the standings as they were preflop, seeing Bezhanian slide a tower of chips across the table to Boyd.

Wesley's Still Standing After Thinking He'd Been Eliminated Early in WSOP Main Event

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Wesley Fei
Wesley Fei

"Wes Side" Wesley Fei thought he was out of the WSOP Main Event on Day 3. He lost a big pot and was heading out the door before being called back to the table as he still had a few chips left.

The Chinese high roller known for his appearances on Hustler Casino Live took that small stack and built it up to reach Day 5, which began with 533 remaining players at 11 a.m. PT on Friday. He was a tad below average stack with 44 big blinds when the session began. But, given where he was two days earlier, he'll take it.

Jared Passanante

Jared Passanante opened to 50,000 from the cutoff and just behind him, Shawn Fagan moved all in for his last 500,000. Passanante quickly called and a showdown was held.

Shawn Fagan: AKAll in
Jared Passanante: KK

It was unfortunate timing from Fagain, who had run his Big Slick into Passanante's Cowboys.

The board ran out JJJ72 — leaving Passanante best with a full house to eliminate Fagan from the tournament.

"If You Can't Speak English, Don't Speak"

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Jose Fernando Garcia Gutierrez
Jose Fernando Garcia Gutierrez

Xoan Mourino made it 50,000 from under the gun and Jose Fernando Garcia Gutierrez called from middle position. Agustin Coelli then squeezed all in for 375,000 from the cutoff, and Mourino moved all in over the top for around 615,000. Garcia Gutierrez, who had both players covered, went into the tank.

As he mulled it over, Garcia Gutierrez began talking in his native language and was quickly reminded by the dealer that only English could be spoken during the hand. Moments later, he continued speaking in another language, prompting the floor to be called over.

Garcia Gutierrez indicated that he couldn't speak English, to which the floor responded, "If you can't speak English, don't speak."

The ruling was understood. Garcia Gutierrez fell silent for a few moments before eventually turning over JxJx and folding.

Agustin Coelli: AA All in
Xoan Mourino: KK All in

Garcia Gutierrez's disciplined fold proved to be the right one, with both opponents tabling higher pairs. Coelli's aces held on the 65433 runout to earn the double through Mourino.

Prabhakar Patel
Prabhakar Patel

Terry Ketterer opened to 50,000 from early position and his neighbor Prabhakar Patel three-bet to 150,000. Ketterer checked out the remainder of Patel's stack before opting to call.

The J39 flop was checked by both to see the 4 turn. Action was checked again to the 8 river and no more bets were made before the pair tabled their cards. Ketterer turned over A10 for ace high, but Patel picked up the pot after he tabled his AQ.
