Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Malcolm Trayner
Malcolm Trayner

The fourth level of play has concluded and there are only 28 players remaining out of the 62 who took their seats earlier today at 11 a.m. local time. Only one more level will be played which features blinds of 250,000-500,000 with a big blind ante of 500,000.

There were some roller coaster runouts and several casualties in this past level, best summed up by the following key hands:

Trayner Smacks the Flop Against Brunson

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Malcolm Trayner
Malcolm Trayner

Todd Brunson raised to 900,000 under the gun and Malcolm Trayner called on the button.

The flop came QJ8 and Brunson continued for 900,000. Trayner called, and the 10 fell on the turn.

Brunson then bet another 1,200,000, and Trayner again called. The river was the 2 and Brunson bet 2,300,000.

Trayner, though, came back with a raise to 7,800,000 this time, and Brunson only took a few seconds before calling. Trayner showed 75 for a flopped flush, and Brunson mucked.

Lauri Saaskilahti

Brock Wilson raised to 800,000 from middle position and Lauri Saaskilahti defended the big blind to a flop of K32. The Finn checked and Wilson bet 500,000 only to then face a check-raise to 2,000,000. Wilson used one time bank and called which led them to the 6 turn.

Saaskilahti also used a time bank and then bet 3,400,000 into a pot of 6,200,000 for most of his chips behind. Wilson moved all in and Saaskilahti called for his stack of 3,975,000.

Lauri Saaskilahti: A3 All in
Brock Wilson: KQ

Saaskilahti was caught with the fingers in the cookie jar but found a way to escape with the A river to cause groans from the rail.

Liu Flops Brunson Dead With His Dad's Hand

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson

Todd Brunson raised to 900,000 with A10 and Tolga Karakaya called in the small blind with A10. Zhao Liu then got frisky in the big blind and called with 102, a hand made famous by the late Doyle Brunson, who won this very event back-to-back years with ten-deuce.

The flop landed 826, leaving Brunson and Karakaya dead to a chop. The flop checked through and Liu bet 1,700,000 on the 4 turn. Brunson folded and Karakaya check-raised to 4,500,000 and Liu called.

Karakaya checked on the 6 river and Liu turned the best hand into a bluff by betting 8,500,000. Karakaya folded the worse hand.

Savas is a Scary Guy

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Daniel Savas
Daniel Savas

Daniel Savas opened to 800,000 from the cutoff, and action folded to Rami Hammoud, who was in the big blind.

"You scare me bro," Hammoud told Savas.

"Thank you," Savas replied.

Hammoud made a, "reluctant call," and the two players headed to the 842 flop. Hammoud check-raised to 2,400,000 over a bet of 800,000, and Savas beat Hammoud to the pot with his calling chips. The Q checked through to the A river, where Hammoud checked. Savas bet 2,000,000 and Hammoud folded after the dealer told him he couldn't change the river card.

On the next deal, Jamie Shaevel opened to 800,000 from the button but folded when Hammoud jammed as the big stack from the small blind.

The following hand, Romain Lewis opened to 800,000 from under the gun, and called when Savas made it 1,600,000 on his direct left.

Lewis checked the 972 flop and Savas bet 1,000,000. Lewis made it 2,500,000, only for Savas to snap-jam as the bigger stack. Lewis still had 20,100,000 behind, and immediately took off his sunglasses. A big exhale followed, and Lewis' mouth remained ajar as he used up several of six time banks.

"I didn't expect that," said Lewis, as he burrowed his face into his hands repeatedly. A couple more time banks were used before Lewis settled on a fold.
