"Straights Are Bad" For Moneymaker

Level 3 : Blinds 300/500, 800 ante

Bradley Jansen raised to 1,500 in the hijack and Hye Park three-bet to 5,100 on the button. Chris Moneymaker called in the big blind, while Jansen got out of the way.

Both players drew one, and Moneymaker then led out for 6,500. Park called.

"I made a straight," Moneymaker said, and Park showed Jx10x8x7x4x to win the pot.

"They say straights are bad," Moneymaker added after the hand.

Kyablue Bets Out Foxen

Level 3 : Blinds 300/500, 800 ante

Xavier Kyablue raised to 1,500 in middle position before Alex Foxen three-bet to 5,500 in the hijack. Kyablue called and drew one, while Foxen stood pat.

Kyablue then led out for 8,000. Foxen ran his hand through his long, flowing hair and looked up at the ceiling as he went into the tank. He eventually folded after around a minute, and Kyablue took down the pot without a showdown.

Brian Breck recently became the first player to be eliminated.

Nakai Attempts a Bluff

Level 3 : Blinds 300/500, 800 ante

Hye Park had raised in middle position when Stephen Moreschi tossed in a three-bet to 4,500 on the button. Park called, after which he drew one card.

Moreschi remained pat in response, but Park opted to lead out for 10,000 after the draw. Moreschi snap-called, forcing Park to sheepishly show 2x2x.

Moreschi then quickly tabled 8x6x5x4x3x for a pat eight-low, winning him the pot.

Tate Gets a Shove Through

Level 3 : Blinds 300/500, 800 ante

Aaron Kupin raised to 1,000 in the cutoff before Caitlin Comeskey three-bet to 4,000 on the button. Brian Tate then moved all in for 29,400 in the big blind.

Kupin quickly folded, while Comeskey took a moment to confirm the amount with the dealer. "That's 60 big blinds," she said as she eventually tossed her cards away.

Toby Boas was on the button and raised to 1,500. Yehuda Buchalter then upped the ante to 5,000 from the small blind, which Boas called.

Buchalter remained pat on the draw, but Boas opted to draw one card. Buchalter tossed in a bet of 3,000 after, taking down the pot as Boas mucked his hand.

On the next deal, John Cynn made it 1,300 under the gun. Buchalter three-bet to 6,000 on the button before James Tilton cold four-bet to 15,000 from the big blind.

Cynn moved out of the way, but Buchalter called. Tilton stood pat, prompting Buchalter to take one card on the draw.

Tilton then pushed in a small bet of 6,000, enough to win the pot as Buchalter admitted defeat by mucking his hand.

Rodenborn Calls Down Sammartino

Todd Rodenborn and Dario Sammartino went heads-up to the draw when Rodenborn led out for 3,000 from the big blind. Sammartino then raised to 9,500 in the cutoff.

Rodenborn called and turned over 8x7x6x5x2x, and Sammartino mucked.

Cynn Draws Best

John Cynn raised to 1,300 in the cutoff. David Stamm made it 4,000 on the button, which Cynn called. Each player then drew one card, with Cynn tossing in a bet of 5,000 after the draw.

Stamm quickly flicked in a calling chip, but he saw it added to his opponent's stack when Cynn tabled 9x7x5x3x2x.

David "ODB" Baker had just taken his seat in the tournament when he three-bet to 8,000 in the cutoff. Ryuta Nakai called under the gun.

Both players stood pat, and Baker then bet 16,000. Nakai quickly called, and Baker showed 8x7x6x4x3x to win the pot.

At another table, Xavier Kyablue bet 4,000 from the button after the draw and Alexander Wilkinson raised to 22,000 in the cutoff. Kyablue called, and Wilkinson showed 8x7x5x3x2x. Kyablue mucked.

Kassela Chips Back Up

John Monnette raised to 1,300 in the hijack, getting a call from Caitlin Comeskey in the cutoff. Frank Kassela then squeezed in a three-bet to 6,500 on the button, which only Monnette called.

Monnette took one card on the draw, Kassela remained pat.

Monnette checked it over, seeing Kasella fire a bet of 7,000. Monette gave it some thought, but ultimately mucked his cards to forfeit the pot.
