Hatmaker Gets One Through

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/10,000, 100,000 ante

Xiaohu Liu raised to 200,000 from the cutoff, which Daniyal Gheba called in the small blind. Casey Hatmaker then opted to three-bet shove for 1,940,000 from the big blind.

Liu cut out the call before studying his remaining stack, at which point he decided to fold. Gheba took less time in making a decision, but ultimately also chose to fold.

Gheba Wins the First Hand After Dinner

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/10,000, 100,000 ante

Ivan Ruban raised to 200,000 from early position and Daniyal Gheba defended out of the big blind.

Gheba led out for 150,000 on the 665 flop, and Ruban called.

Gheba checked the 2 turn and Ruban fired for 375,000. Gheba made the call.

A K completed the board and Gheba jammed, covering Ruban. The jam was for Ruban's stack of 1,300,000, and it didn't take long for Ruban to land on a fold.

Ren Lin: AQ

Lin stayed ahead on the K2A flop, but Hatmaker was still drawing live with a gutshot straight draw.

The 4 turn was of no consequence, but Lin's Lady Gaga backfired when the Q river upgraded Hatmaker to a straight to double up through Lin.

More for Mugar

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Peter Mugar opened to 180,000 from the cutoff, which only Ivan Ruban called in the big blind.

Both players checked on the Q98 flop, which gave Ruban the green light to take over the betting lead on the 5 turn. He put 325,000 into the middle, which Mugar called.

The river brought a fourth diamond, as the 4 completed the board. Ruban opted to check, and found himself facing a bet of 450,0000. After taking some time to study the board, he returned his cards to the dealer, who then pushed the pot in the direction of Mugar.

Peter Mugar completed from the small blind and Daniyal Gheba checked out of the big blind.

Mugar checked on the 67A flop and Gheba bet 80,000. Mugar check-raised to 250,000 and Gheba came along with a call.

A 10 on the turn didn't slow Mugar down as he placed out a bet of 350,000. Again, Gheba called.

After seeing the 8 land on the river, Mugar announced all in for 1,135,000. Gheba leaned back in his chair and looked over at his neighbor. In the end, Gheba decided a fold was best, surrendering the pot to Mugar.

Miao was in a world of hurt as Mugar had his hand dominated.

The flop was of no help to Miao as it came 446 to keep Mugar well ahead.

Miao would find the miracle he needed on the turn when the 10 peeled that elicited a reaction from the crowd on the rail.

The 4 river completed the board as Miao dodged disaster and stayed in contention at the final table.
