For years, fans have followed every part of Daniel Negreanu’s World Series of Poker grinds through his vlogs. This week, however, the seven-time WSOP bracelet winner shared something far more personal than a tournament update or high-stakes hand review.
At the start of his latest vlog, Negreanu could be seen doing some light reading from The New Father: A Dad’s Guide to the First Year.
That’s right. KidPoker is about to become DaddyPoker!
The 15 players are going on a 15-minute break.
When action folded to Kamel Mokhammad on the button, he jammed for 250,000. Chenxiang Miao moved in over the top from the small blind, and once the big blind folded, the players showed their hands with Mokhammad at risk.
Kamel Mokhammad: A♦2♠
Chenxiang Miao: J♦J♣
Miao was in the lead with pocket jacks, but that changed on the Q♥A♥10♦ flop as Mokhammad spiked an ace.
The 8♦ turn gave Miao some more outs, but the 6♣ river was a brick, and Mokhammad stayed alive in the tournament.
Xiaohu Liu started the action with a raise to 100,000 on the button. Kamel Mokhammad made the call out of the big blind.
Mokhammad checked the 8♣J♦K♣ flop. Liu opted to bet 80,000. Mokhammad called.
Liu bet 180,000 on the K♦ turn after it was checked to him. Mokhammad was not yet done and chose to make the call.
Mokhammad slipped it over to Liu on the A♦ river. Liu grabbed a stack of chips and fired 1,200,000 to put Mokhammad to a decision for his tournament life.
Mokhammad yielded the pot with a fold to award Liu the pot.
Kharlin Sued limped in from under the gun, which saw Xiaohu Liu and Yifu He follow suit from the cutoff and button before Chenxiang Miao checked his option in the big blind.
Sued put a bet of 90,000 into the middle on the K♦5♠9♥ flop, which only He called.
The dealer added the 9♣ turn to the board, and this time Sued checked before calling when He put 175,000 into the pot.
The action was checked through on the 3♠ river, and Sued tabled the winner with his K♣J♦.
"I didn't mean to limp, I meant to raise," Sued shared with the table, once the hand was completed.
Chenxiang Miao raised to 100,000 from under the gun and Ren Lin three-bet out of the hijack. Miao called and the flop came down 8♠J♣J♥.
Miao started out with a check, and Lin chose to continuation-bet for 100,000. Miao made the call.
Another check came from Miao on the 2♠ turn and Lin fired a second barrel of 350,000. This got Miao to lay down his cards and Lin pulled in the pot.
Daniyal Gheba raised under the gun to 100,000 with Peter Mugar calling on the button, and Zexiang Sun defending out of the big blind.
All three players checked a runout of J♣6♠3♣Q♠5♠ to the river. After Sun and Gheba checked for the last time, Mugar fired for 425,000. Sun check-jammed for 1,760,000, which got Gheba to fold.
Mugar, who had a similar stack to Sun, thought it over for quite some time before he opted to return his cards to the dealer, giving up the pot to Sun.
Sun proudly windmilled the A♠7♦ over to Mugar for a total bluff as the pot headed his way.
Anthony Marquez shoved for 390,000 from the small blind. Ren Lin asked for a count before he made the call out of the big blind to put Marquez at risk.
Anthony Marquez: J♣J♠
Ren Lin: A♣8♥
Marquez was in a good position to double, but Lin could still sink him with an ace.
The flop was clean for Marquez when it came 6♠2♠10♦ to keep him in the lead.
The turn was not as kind as it came the A♦ to vault Lin into the lead.
Lin secured the pot when the 4♠ peeled on the river as Marquez was eliminated in 16th place.
Marquez earned $19,253 for his effort.
When the action folded to Scott Eskenazi in the cutoff, he moved all in for 435,000. Daniyal Gheba called in the small blind, putting Eskenazi at risk.
Scott Eskenazi: A♠10♠
Daniyal Gheba: 9♠9♣
Eskenazi was unable to find any meaningful help on the 8♠4♣6♦5♠7♦ board, which only served to improve Gheba to a better straight than the board provided, confirming his elimination in 17th place.
