The Negreanus

For years, fans have followed every part of Daniel Negreanu’s World Series of Poker grinds through his vlogs. This week, however, the seven-time WSOP bracelet winner shared something far more personal than a tournament update or high-stakes hand review.

At the start of his latest vlog, Negreanu could be seen doing some light reading from The New Father: A Dad’s Guide to the First Year.

That’s right. KidPoker is about to become DaddyPoker!

BabyPoker Coming Late November!

Negreanu and his wife, Amanda Negreanu, revealed they are expecting their first child together. The couple, who married in 2019, shared the news during the vlog followed by a clip of an ultrasound scan.

“We’re announcing to you people,” said Daniel. “You’re the first ones,” added Amanda. “We’re fifteen weeks pregnant."

The camera then panned toward Amanda’s stomach, though the couple explained there’s a reason there isn’t yet a baby bump.

“We have an awesome surrogate who’s killing it,” said Daniel. “She’s great,” Amanda shared.

According to Negreanu, becoming parents is something they’ve been preparing for over the last couple of years, including changing the lifestyle habits.

“The last year or two, we’ve set ourselves up for parenthood that we didn’t have before,” Negreanu said, joking about their previously late sleep schedules and leisurely mornings.

“I think it’s time. I think we’re officially ready...We’ve been doing this for a long time,” they both said.

The couple also revealed they are expecting a baby boy, with the due date set for late November. PokerNews would like to give a big congratulations to the Negreanus. We can’t wait to meet the future BabyPoker.

How's Negreanu Doing at the 2026 WSOP?

Daniel Negreanu

Away from the baby news, Negreanu has already started his 2026 WSOP journey. He got off to a strong start in Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed and was among the chip leaders earlier on Day 2 before suffering one of the first brutal coolers of the summer.

With the money bubble looming, Negreanu looked well on course for his first cash of the series before running pocket aces into the flopped top set of Ryuta Nakai.

On a 10746 board, Nakai bet before Negreanu moved all in holding AA. Nakai snap-called with 1010 for top set, and the 9 river failed to rescue Negreanu, sending him to the rail just short of the money.

Shortly after his elimination, the bubble burst with the final 86 players locking up a $9,947 min-cash.

Still, fans won’t have to wait long to see Negreanu back at the tables. According to his WSOP schedule, he is slated to play Event #5: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, which got underway at Noon on Thursday, May 28.
