Chip Counts
John Anderson raised to 30,000 from middle position, and Graham Mathews called from the hijack before Sean Troha fired out a 130,000 three-bet from the small blind.
With action back on Anderson, he moved all in for all of his last 156,000 chips, and Mathews called off his shorter stack. Troha called for the rest.
Graham Mathews: A♦8♥6♥6♦3♥
John Anderson: A♥9♥7♥3♦2♦
Sean Troha: A♣A♠J♣5♠2♣
The runout of 10♥3♠J♥2♥8♣ produced a nut-flush and the high for Anderson, while Troha knocked Mathews out with an eight-five low, bettering his eight-six.
Jake Liebeskind and Jiayi Yao got all in preflop from the small and big blind respectively, with Liebeskin covering the 85,000 stack of Yao.
Jiayi Yao: A♣7♣5♣5♥2♠
Jake Liebeskind: A♠A♦4♥3♦3♣
The 9♦9♠6♠ flop left Yao in real trouble, needing to hit his gutshot, or backdoor a low. The 10♥ left only the former as an option, as he left his chair before the Q♠ river hit, seemingly knowing his fate.
Mark Klecan raised to 20,000- under the gun, and Shiva Dudani called.
Tom McCormick then moved all-in with his last 28,000 chips and yelled across the room to his friend Tony Cousineau seated at another table that he needed some help. Klecan and Dudani called the additional 8,000.
The flop hit Q♠3♠J♥. Klecan and Dudani checked.
Klecan bet 40,000 on the 9♣ turn, and Dudani folded.
Tom McCormick: A♠K♠3♣3♦2♠
Mark Klecan: K♦10♦5♥2♦2♣
Klecan had turned a king-high straight, but McCormick had a set of threes, the nut-flush draw and a gutshot to a higher straight.
The 10♥ came on the river to deliver Broadway for McCormick, who stood, clapped and raised his arms in the air when others in the room joined with applause.
"Let's hear it for the Shamrock Kid!" he said.
Action was picked up on the river of a board reading 7♣K♦6♦2♣9♣ with Steven Johnson having already wagered all of his chips earlier in the hand. A side pot was contested between Jason Brown and Shawn Rice, who got all in on the turn, as all three players tabled their cards.
Steven Johnson: A♦J♦10♦7♦6♥
Shawn Rice: A♠Q♠9♥4♥3♥
Jason Brown: Q♦J♥5♦4♣3♦
Rice had managed to scoop the side pot with the nut low, and just a pair of nines as Brown had bricked out on his combo draw. He was also awarded half of the main pot, as his nines were bested by Johnson's two pair.
The hand was picked up just after Sorawit Suriyakarn moved all-in and got three callers on a flop of A♦4♣K♥.
Sergio Martinez, Dion Kaba and Kurtis Ruhl all checked the turn 8♣ and river 7♥, leaving Suriyakarn all-in against three five-card hands.
Sorawit Suriyakarn: A♠9♥6♦5♥3♣
Dion Kaba: A♣Q♦Q♠J♣7♠
Kurtis Ruhl: A♥J♦9♠4♦2♣
Sergio Martinez: 7♦5♣3♥2♥2♦
When it was all sorted out, Martinez had turned the nut-low and Suriyakarn hit a straight on the river to pick up half the pot.
Suriyakarn had managed to play several rotations and improve a pay jump since being down to just 6,000 chips (1 1/2 blinds).
Level: 18
Blinds: 5,000/10,000
Ante: 10,000
The remaining 167 players are on a 15-minute break.
The hand was picked up after four limpers joined big blind Sorawit Suriyakarn in the pot.
The flop hit Q♠4♥3♠ and all five players checked.
The 9♠ came on the turn and Sergio Martinez bet 40,000. Suriyakarn was the only caller.
The river brought the Q♣ to pair the board and Martinez lead out again, this time with 35,000.
Suriyakarn thought about it for some time, but finally made the call for almost all of his chips.
Suriyakarn turned over a hand that included 9♥9♦, giving him a full house and the win.
