Freddy Fermin open jammed for his last 360,000 chips from under the gun and action folded to Jonathan Lawson in the small blind. He re-jammed for 540,000 leaving the final action on Edward Ochana in the big blind. He asked for a count of Lawson's stack and considered his option.
He eventually mucked and flashed his pocket jacks before they went into the muck. After the live hands had been flipped, a player remarked to Ochana "What a fold!", seeing he would have been up against pocket queens.
Freddy Fermin: A♠8♠
Jonathan Lawson: Q♦Q♠
The K♥Q♣4♣ flop saw Lawson improve to trips. Fermin found an ace on the A♦ turn, but couldn't turn it into anything with the 7♣ river.
While multi-tabling poker online, Miguel Capriles casually put in a raise to 30,000 under the gun. Action folded to Jason Raber in the cutoff, who three-bet to 70,000. Capriles wasn't done yet as he made it 110,000 when the action got back to him. Raber jammed, and Capriles beat him into the pot for his stack of around 395,000.
Miguel Capriles: A♣A♦
Jason Raber: K♥K♠
It was poker's classic preflop cooler, and Raber found himself in rough shape from the moment the cards were tabled.
Capriles surged even further ahead on the 10♣A♥3♣ flop after improving to top set, leaving Raber needing a miracle to win.
Raber picked up a glimmer of hope on the J♥ turn with a straight draw, but those hopes were quickly extinguished when the 6♥ completed the board.
Capriles secured the double-up, while Raber was left nursing just a couple of big blinds.
Alexander Duvall raised to 30,000 in the cutoff and only Srivinay Irrinki called from the big blind.
Irrinki check-called a bet of 15,000 from Duvall on the K♥9♣A♥ flop.
The 5♦ hit the turn and Irrinki check-called a second bet from Duvall, this time for 60,000.
Both players checked the board-pairing K♦ river and Irrinki's A♣9♠ for two pair, aces and kings, was enough to win the pot.
Jason Raber in middle position jammed for 80,000 and was called by the current chip lead Ioannis Kapnopoulos who opened from early position.
Jason Raber: Q♣J♦
Ioannis Kapnopoulos: K♦Q♥
Both players flopped top pair, but Kapnopoulos remained in the lead and even hit two pair on 2♥9♣Q♦7♦K♣ to double up.
Yulian Bogdanov raised to 35,000 from early position and Lisa Xie clicked it to 55,000 from the big blind. Bogdanov called to see the J♥4♠9♣ flop.
Xie checked and Bogdanov fired for 40,000. Xie check-jammed, and Bogdanov called for his remaining 190,000.
Yulian Bogdanov: 10♣10♦
Lisa Xie: A♣K♦
Bogdanov was ahead with his pair of tens, although that changed on the K♣ turn as Xie improved to a pair of kings.
Bogdanov still had outs, and he found one in the form of the Q♦ river to make a straight.
Bogdanov doubled up, while Xie was left with less than a big blind.
Genady Mayzel had taken a hit and was down to his last 180,000 when he open-jammed from the small blind. Zdenek Zizka was in the big blind and took a moment, before making the call.
Genady Mayzel: A♥3♥
Zdenek Zizka: K♠9♣
Mayzel was hoping to hold and the 5♠J♦2♦ flop kept him ahead. There was no change on the J♠ turn or A♣ river, and he locked up his double up.
