Dara Taherpour opened from early position and picked up two callers, including Dennis Maschke in the cutoff and Joshua Mitchell on the button.
Taherpour continued on the 5♠9♠7♦ flop, but the action quickly escalated when Maschke raised and Mitchell fired in a three-bet. Back on Taherpour, he took one last look at his cards before deciding to fold. Maschke called, and the two players headed to the turn.
The 2♥ turn checked through, bringing the 6♣ river. Maschke checked once more and called a bet from Mitchell.
Mitchell tabled 7♠6♠ for two pair, sevens and sixes, and that proved enough to take down the pot as Maschke sent his cards into the muck.
The following players have all been eliminated
After a raise and reraise before the flop, Pedro Martinez got the rest of his chips into the middle and was at risk against Dennis Weiss in the cutoff.
Pedro Martinez: A♣10♥
Dennis Weiss: 5♠5♦
Martinez found himself behind, but the J♠4♦Q♠ flop gave him additional outs with a gutshot straight draw. However, neither the 8♥ turn nor the Q♥ river improved his hand.
Weiss's pocket fives remained best, sending Martinez to the rail while adding even more chips to Weiss's growing stack.
Gale Bonottoaragon raised from under the gun and was three-bet by Sorawit Suriyakarn from the small blind. Yongjae Lee made it four bets to go and Suriyakarn called.
Suriyakarn led out for a bet on the 6♥10♥10♣ flop and Lee raised. Suriyakarn three-bet and Lee four-bet to put Suriyakarn all in. Suriyakarn called and a three-way showdown was held.
Gale Bonottoaragon: 9♥9♦
Sorawit Suriyakarn: K♥J♥
Yongjae Lee: Q♥Q♣
Lee was ahead with his queens, and the 7♣ turn nor 6♠ river changed anything — awarding Lee the double knockout as the money bubble draws near.
Omar Mehmood opened from middle position before Young Ko fired a three-bet from the cutoff. Mehmood came back with a four-bet, and Ko called to take the hand to the flop.
The dealer spread Q♣8♠K♦, and Mehmood continued with a bet that Ko called.
The action repeated itself on the 6♥ turn and again on the 7♦ river.
At the showdown, Mehmood tabled A♦A♣ for a pair of aces. Ko could only shake his head before sending his cards into the muck, leaving himself with just a short stack to work with.
David Bach raised from early position and just behind him, David Bach moved all in for his remaining chips. Everyone else got out of the way and a showdown was held.
David Bach: A♥K♣
Daniel Rossi: 8♦8♣
It was a race for Rossi's tournament life, and the 9♣10♥Q♥ flop and 9♠ turn left Rossi one card away from a double up; however, the 10♣ landed on the river — counterfeiting Rossi's pair and leaving Bach best with his Big Slick for the elimination.
Eli Elezra was already all in for his last 20,000 from the big blind in a three-way pot preflop against Randy Larson on the button and Dennis Maschke in the small blind.
Larson called bets from Maschke on the K♠Q♥5♠ flop and 8♠ turn and then bet after Maschke checked on the 6♣ river.
Larson turned over K♥10♣ for a pair of kings, but they were no good against Maschke's A♥A♦ for aces.
Elezra had already walked away from the table and the dealer flipped over his J♣10♦ for a whiffed straight draw — eliminating Elezra from the tournament.
Michael Solheim, who bagged up one of the largest stacks on Day 1, is off to a hot start and has already won a few pots in the early stages of Day 2.
In a recent hand, Yuri Dzivielevski raised from the the cutoff and Michael Solheim defended his big blind.
Solheim check-called a bet from Dzivielevski on the A♥9♠10♠ flop and the both players checked on the A♠ turn.
Solheim fired a bet into the middle on the 2♦ river and Dzivielevski called.
"Ten" Solheim announced as he turned over 10♣6♣.
Dzivielevski mucked his hand and Solheim was sent the pot.
Zheming Zhu opened from middle position and received a call from Jose Iniguez in the small blind.
The flop came 10♦A♠8♣, and Iniguez check-called a bet from Zhu to see the 8♥ turn. Both players checked the paired board, bringing the J♣ on the river.
Iniguez then led out with a bet, and Zhu quickly made the call. Iniguez turned over K♥Q♥ for a straight, made on the river. Zhu sent his cards into the muck.
