Robert Cowen raised from middle position and was called by Billy Tarango to his left. Aaron Mermelstein on the button potted to 9,500 and was called by both Cowen and Tarango.

Mermelstein continued for 7,500 on the 7♠K♥2♦ flop and was called twice, then Cowen led out for 42,500 on the 8♣ turn. Tarango folded but Mermelstein made the call.

The 10♠ river was checked by Cowen who saw Mermelstein bet 55,000. Cowen with roughly 65,000 behind went deep into the tank and called with A♥Q♣2♥2♣ for a set. Mermelstein had A♠A♣K♣8♦.
