Jamie Gold raised to 100,000 under the gun, and Steven Buckner moved all in for 430,000, one seat to his left. The action returned to Gold, who called.
Steven Buckner: K♣J♣
Jamie Gold: A♠Q♠
When the dealer spread the 3♣5♣6♠ flop, there was a little bit of chat between the two players, who have known each other for more than two decades.
"Oh, you've gave him the club draw," Gold said.
"Let me get there one time," Buckner responded.
The 2♥ turn had no effect, and neither did the 5♠ river, seeing Gold eliminate Buckner.
"What are you doing, cuz? You know when I raise first, I never have worse than that", Gold asked rhetorically, referring to the hand Buckner chose to move all in with.
"We've known each other for twenty years. I would never berate another player, but we've been playing against each other for twenty years", Gold assured the table as Buckner took his leave.
When the action folded to Rick Biever in the small blind, he raised to 80,000. Marc Monllao responded by moving all in from the big blind for 520,000, and Biever called.
Marc Monllao: K♥Q♥
Rick Biever: K♠J♠
The 8♦6♣4♠2♥10♦ board brought no trouble for Monllao, seeing him survive with a full double-up.
With roughly 200,000 in the pot on a flop of A♥9♦Q♣, Hiroto Nishijima bet 40,000 from middle position. Avneesh Munjal, on the button, raised to 135,000, and Nishijima quickly called.
The J♥ turn completed a straight on the board. Munjal continued for 290,000, only for Nishijima to respond with a raise to 600,000. Munjal made the call.
When the Q♦ paired the board on the river, Nishijima checked. Munjal then moved all in for 1,200,000, sending Nishijima deep into the tank.
As the decision was ongoing, one of Nishijima's tablemates complained that the hand had been going on for 15 minutes, prompting a clock call. Nishijima apologized to the table before eventually releasing his hand face up, revealing K♣10♠ for a straight.
"Best hand of my summer so far," Munjal said with a smile as he sent his cards into the muck and scooped the pot.
Marek Dlouhy opened to 80,000 from middle position, and, one seat to his left, Natalie Gabay moved all in for 260,000. The action folded back to Dlouhy, who called.
Natalie Gabay: 5♥5♣
Marek Dlouhy: J♠10♣
The ten-high 2♥10♠6♠ flop was bad news for Gabay, and it didn't get any better, as the K♥ turn and A♦ river confirmed her elimination.
Level: 23
Blinds: 20,000/40,000
Ante: 40,000
Brice Hector raised to 75,000 from under the gun, and, after Michael Acevedo called on the button, Richard Ali came along in the big blind.
When the action checked through on the 4♦8♦10♠ flop, Ali saw that as a green light to take over the betting lead on the 4♠ turn, putting 85,000 into the middle. That was enough to shake Hector off, but Acevedo called on the button.
The 2♦ completed the board, and Ali slid 250,000 into the middle. Undeterred, Acevedo called, but it was bad news, as Ali tabled Q♦3♦ for a rivered flush.
Acevedo returned his cards face down to the dealer, and paid the river bet.
Alexandra Loveless raised to 60,000 from middle position, and Kaidi Yan called in the cutoff. Both of the blinds folded, and they went to a flop.
Both players checked when the flop came 3♣10♠7♣. Loveless fired out a bet of 90,000 when the A♠ fell on the turn, and Yan made the call.
Loveless went all in for roughly 315,000 on the 8♥ river. Yan, with a smile on his face, made a quick fold.
