Rast Four-Bets Beinner

Level 3
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

No-Limit Hold’em

Esther Taylor raised to 5,500 in the cutoff and then folded when Marco Johnson three-bet to 21,000 in the small blind.

Brian Rast limped the small blind for Matthew Beinner to check in the big blind. Rast check-folded the 932 flop to a bet of 3,000.

Rast then made it 5,000 to go on the button. Beinner three-bet to 17,000 and Rast four-bet to 40,000 in order to win the pot.

After the hand, Eric Wasserson came over to inquire with Daniel Negreanu if the tournament has ever had a shot clock to which Negreanu replied "I don't think so, but it might come". One has to presume that the inquiry was for a side bet made on Wasserson's nearby table.

More for Kornuth

Level 2

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Chance Kornuth raised and Phil Hui three-bet, which Eli Elezra in the big blind and initial raiser Kornuth called. They checked the J88 flop to the 9 turn on which Elezra bet and Kornuth happened to be the only caller.

Elezra then slowed down and check-called the 2 river to muck when he was shown the AAK7 by Kornuth. After this hand, Kornuth made space for Eric Wasserson and was moved to another table that had recently lost Jason Kluska, who became the first casualty of the tournament.

"The Beats I've Been Taking Are From Outer Space"

Level 2
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a three-way pot on a board of 43A8, John Rogers bet 45,000 and Jesse Lonis called from the next seat, while John Monnette also called.

All three players checked on the 3 river. Rogers showed J852 for a Wheel as Lonis showed Q1052 for the same Wheel as the two chopped up Monnette.

A few tables over, Nacho Barbero could be heard complaining about his summer so far.

"The beats I've been taking are from outer space," he groaned. "But I visualized that I will be winning the tournament today."

"Must have been the $250 daily!' quipped reigning champion Michael Mizrachi.

Razz

Dave Rogers: XxXx / 2x8x7x - folded on fifth street
Dan Cates: XxXx / 3x5xAx6x / Xx
Scott Seiver: XxXx / 5x10x3x2x / Xx

Action picked up on fifth as Cates led with the low board and Seiver called, while Rogers got out of the way.

On sixth, Cates led again, Seiver quickly raised, and Cates called.

Cates would check-call on seventh after around 30 seconds, only for Seiver to reveal 7x4xAx, making a wheel to collect the pot.
