Merickel Spikes Duck on the River

Level 24 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action was picked up in an all in pot between Goonjan Mall on the button, and Robert Merickel in the big blind.

Robert Merickel: 22 All in
Goonjan Mall: J7

The 9JQ flop fired Mall into the lead, giving Merickel just two outs. Without getting there instantly, the 10 turn was as good as he could hope for, as he picked up plenty chopportunities. It wouldn't be a chop, however, as the miracle 2 on the river scored him the full double up.

"Got there with the best hand!" he exclaimed as the dealer was counting his chips.

Boyer Folds Best Hand

Level 24 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

David Boyer opened to 160,000 from middle position, and action folded around to Heine Wolthuis in the big blind, who moved all in for a covering stack.

Boyer took some time before saying to his opponent "I guess I owe you a fold," and laying down 77 face up.

Wolthuis then showed that he was pipped, tabling 66 for an underpair. "Nice jam," said Boyer as the pot was pushed to his opponent.

Kings Hold in Canadian Affair

Level 24 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Joshua Frazer James open-shoved his stack of 335,000 from the hijack. Pietro Lo Giudice then reshoved for 850,000 on the button, and both blinds folded.

Joshua Frazer James: KK All in
Pietro Lo Giudice: 1010

Lo Giudice had woken up with a hand at a very inopportune time, as he needed to spike a ten for the knockout. The J4A47 runout did not give him what he needed, as Frazer James survived with his tournament life in tact.

Adam Spikes a Bullet to Send Avrahami Home

Level 24 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Maxime Adam made it 140,000 to play from the cutoff and action came to Nadav Avrahami in the big blind, who three-bet all in for 880,000. He was slightly covered by Adam, who snap-called.

Nadav Avrahami: 44 All in
Maxime Adam: AJ

A safe flop of 6K9 came for Avrahami but when the dealer peeled off the A as the turn he was in trouble. No miracle 4x for Avrahami on the 9 river and he was sent to the rail.

Barbara Enright

Enright bet out for 125,000 and Jo made the call for the players to see the 4 peel off on the turn.

Jo checked once again to Enright who fired off a second barrel of 225,000 and Jo made the call.

The action went check, check on the 9 river with Enright tabling Q10 for top pair which had Jo's KJ crushed and Enright was shipped the pot.

Fleischer's Overpair Holds

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Action was picked up on a flop of 543 with just north of 400,000 in the middle.

Big blind Christian Wong checked first to act, and Byron Yip did the same from late position. Terry Fleischer then jammed in the cutoff, his stack totalling 890,000. Wong stuck in some chips to signify a call, and Yip got out of the way.

Terry Fleischer: 77 All in
Christian Wong: 52

Fleischer had the higher end of his opponent's straight draw cover, meaning he was needing to fade nine outs twice for a huge double. The Q turn was squeaky clean, as was the 8 river, as Fleischer's stack headed north of the 2 million mark.

Neufeld Sends Vetter Packing

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Action folded to Tyler Neufeld on the button who raised to 125,000 only for Scott Vetter sat in the small blind to three-bet all in for 540,000. Action came back to Neufeld who double checked the count and snap-called.

Scott Vetter: JJ All in
Tyler Neufeld: QJ

Not the door card Vetter wanted to see on the Q57 flop and it left him drawing to one out or some strange runner-runner combo. No luck on the K turn and when the 5 bricked out the river Vetter was sent to the cage.

Identical Stacks Flip

Level 23 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Daichi Ueki and Adithya Pailla got all their chips into the middle from the hijack and small blind respectively. Ueki's stack of 635,000 was only slightly covering his opponent.

Adithya Pailla: AJ All in
Daichi Ueki: 77

The board came nice and clean for Ueki, as the 32569 runout put out by the dealer scored him an elimination, as well as padding his stack over the seven-figure mark.
