In the 989th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by FanDuel Poker, Chad Holloway honors the 20th anniversary of the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) by chatting with a trio of players who made a name for themselves that year.
That includes Paul Wasicka, who finished runner-up to Jamie Gold in the 2006 WSOP Main Event and, a year later, went on to win the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. What has the former young gun, who doesn't play much serious poker anymore, been up to over the past two decades? Find out here.
Likewise, Sabyl Cohen-Landrum finished 56th in the 2006 WSOP Main Event, making her the last woman standing by outlasting Annie Duke. ESPN captured it and vaulted her to temporary "Poker Boom" fame, but what is life like for her now?
Finally, Chad caught up with Jon Friedberg, who topped a then-record 2,891-player field to win a $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event for $526K and a gold bracelet. Friedberg has gone on to become a major player on the poker operator side of things, and part of that success stems from his big bracelet win. Learn more about his story in this week's episode of the PokerNews Podcast!

The final 23 players are heading to another 15 minute break. During the break, the green T-25,000 chips will be raced off, as action resumes at 8:45 p.m. local time.
Hana Jo moved all in for 2,475,000 from early position, and Valentin Farkas moved all in over the top from the late position for 5,350,000. Everyone else folded.
Hana Jo: 4♠4♦
Valentin Farkas: A♠8♠
The board ran out with two pair for Farkas with Q♦8♣3♠10♣10♠ for the win.
Alexander Perez moved all in from early position for his final 775,000. Dean Kerl reshoved on the button, and both blinds folded.
Alexander Perez: 5♣3♣
Dean Kerl: A♥10♣
The 10♥9♣J♦ flop was bad news for Perez, who was calling for a "queen!" on the 8♠ turn as he picked up chop outs. It wasn't to be, however, as the 6♦ river sealed his elimination.
On another table, Nianqing Wang hit the rail, also.
Brian Brackett raised from the cutoff to 2,200,000, and Gianluigi Zaniboni smooth called from the big blind. The flop was A♣5♠Q♦ and Zaniboni checked, while Brackett bet 2,200,000. Zaniboni called.
Both players checked the turn 5♣.
On the river 2♠, Zaniboni checked, and Brackett fell into his trap and moved all in for 5,525,000. Zaniboni called.
Brian Brackett: 6♠6♦
Gianluigi Zaniboni: A♦J♣
Zaniboni eliminated Brackett with a higher two-pair.
Christopher Rodriguez open-jammed all in from the cutoff for 4,175,000 only for Alexander Perez, sat on the button, to also move all in and he had the blinds covered, who folded.
Christopher Rodriguez: 9♠9♥
Alexander Perez: A♦9♣
A handy flop for Rodriguez of 4♥8♣9♦ with the case nine showing up to give him a set. The 8♦ on the turn left Perez drawing dead and the Q♥ river sealed the deal for Rodriguez and a double-up.
Hana Jo opened to 1,200,000 from early position. Both Alexander Perez and Vu Tran defended their blinds, as the three headed off to a flop of 3♣3♥7♠.
Perez checked in the small, and Tran opted to lead out for 900,000 from the big blind. Jo took some time before calling, but Perez let his cards go.
The 3♦ turn checked through to the 6♠ river, at which point Tran went for another bet, choosing 1,100,000 as his sizing this time. Jo thought it through for some time before releasing her cards to the dealer.
Erez Klein was forced all-in from his big blind, unable to pay a full ante. Action folded to Barbara Enright on the button, who raised to 1,400,000, which folded out the small blind.
Erez Klein: K♥2♦
Barbara Enright: Q♣7♣
Klein tried to will in a king, but asking for a card while ahead proved unsuccessful as the J♦3♥Q♠ flop was dealt. He picked up some straight outs on the 9♠ turn, but was unable to convert as the 3♣ river sent him home.
