Eight for Johnson

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Kyle Bowker raised to 1,200 in the cutoff and Marco Johnson called in the small blind and drew two to Bowker's one.

Johnson checked, Bowker bet 600 and Johnson check-raised to 1,200. Bowker called and drew one after Johnson stood pat.

Johnson bet and Bowker called as both players now stood pat and checked.

Johnson fanned his {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} while Bowker announced a nine and mucked.

One Down, Two Still Hunting

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

One of the three former champions has fallen. 2015 champ Carol Fuchs has just been eliminated late on Day 1. There is still hope for a two-time champ, even a sweat for a back-to-back champion, as 2014 champ Robert Mizrachi and last year's winner Lawrence Berg remain.

Mizrachi is sitting on a healthy stack while Berg is one of the tournament big stacks.

A-5 Triple Draw

The 2015 $1,500 Dealer's Choice champ, Carol Fuchs, recently lost a good portion of her stack. There was about 8,000 in the pot already when Fuchs raised a bet after the second draw only to get three-bet by the initial raiser. Fuchs flatted and both players patted.

Fuchs check-called a bet and mucked when her opponent tabled a wheel. "Draw two and hit a wheel..." Fuchs said as her opponent was pushed the sizable pot.

Bronshtein and Taylor Chop

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Yuval Bronshtein had the bring-in and Esther Taylor completed. Bronshtein called, and then proceeded to call bets on every subsequent street.

Bronshtein: {X-}{X-} / {3-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} / {X-}
Taylor: {X-}{X-} / {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs} / {X-}

Bronshtein tabled his {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for an eight-low as Taylor tabled her {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for a worse eight-low but a pair of eights as both players chopped the pot.

Johnson Clips Gathy

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Big O

Marco Johnson raised to 900 in the cutoff and Michael Gathy called on the button to see a {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop.

Both players checked and the turn landed the {7-Clubs} and Johnson bet out 2,100 which was enough to prompt a fold from Gathy.
