Razz

Cernuto: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{A-}{Q-}{8-} / {x-}
Tehan: {x-}{x-} / {K-}{2-}{3-}{J-} / {x-}

We caught up to the action on fifth street where Joe Tehan made a bet and John Cernuto called. On sixth, Cernuto decided that he would bet instead, and Tehan called.

Cernuto followed up with a bet on seventh and that threw Tehan into the tank. He thought about it for a couple of minutes.

"You got it, John?" Tehan asked. Cernuto just shrugged.

Tehan eventually decided to fold, leaving himself with just 3,000 left, as Cernuto built his stack up to over 100,000.

Straight and the Nut-Low Low Works for Koral

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

We found Shawn Buchanan facing a bet from Tom Koral on sixth street with the latter sporting four to a straight on board.

Buchanan: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Koral: {x-}{x-}/{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Buchanan took a long time but decided to call, and he called one more bet on the river.

"Straight and a bad low," Koral said, showing {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a ten-high straight and the worst qualifying low. It was enough to scoop.

Two For Negreanu

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Hold'em

We caught up with Daniel Negreanu and watched him play a couple pots of hold'em, both of which he took down.

On the first hand, Negreanu opened from the button. Eric Buchman raised from the big blind and Negreanu called.

The flop was {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Buchman bet. Negreanu called.

On the {4-Diamonds} turn, Buchman bet again and Negreanu thought a second before calling. The river was the {9-Hearts} and both players checked.

"I just have a pair," Buchman said, turning up {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. Negreanu had him beat with the {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and he took down the pot.

Before Negreanu could even finish stacking his chips he was involved in another pot. He opened from the cutoff and was called by Bradley Snider in the big blind. The flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Snider checked to Negreanu who bet. Snider called.

Both players checked on the {10-Clubs} turn and the {2-Clubs} river. Snider showed {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a rivered pair but it was no good against Negreanu's {A-Spades}{6-Spades} for a better pair.

Tehan Survives

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Brian Brubaker bet on a completed board of {q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} after Tom West checked in the big blind. Joe Tehan slid all his chips in, and West splashed in a call. It turned out to be 100 more, so Brubaker called too.

Brubaker showed {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for aces and sevens. Tehan had {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for the nut low, and West couldn't beat or match either hand.

Chidwick More than Doubles

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Hold'em

With a bloated pot in the middle already, Stephen Chidwick bet against Prince Gaspard and Andre Akkari on a {2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, and both players called. Chidwick fired again on the {3-Spades} turn, and only Akkari called this time. Akkari called the final bet of 3,400 on the {j-Clubs} river, and Chidwick showed {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for jacks full. Akkari had {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

The Brazilian is down considerably from his start-of-day leading stack, but Gaspard appears to have taken over as one of the chip leaders.

Scotty Missed, Baby

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Hold'em

Scotty Nguyen opened the action with a raise from the hijack. He was raised by Blair Rodman. Next to act was Tom Chambers on the button and he made it four bets. Nguyen and Rodman called.

on the {J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop, all three players checked to see the {J-Spades} on the turn. Nguyen put in a bet on the turn and only Chambers called.

On the {4-Clubs} river, Nguyen bet one more time and Chambers called quickly.

"I missed, baby," Nguyen said.

"I know you did," Chambers said. "I want to see it."

Scotty reluctantly turned over {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, but it was no good as Chambers showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} to take down the pot.

"I shoulda bet the flop," Nguyen said after the hand.
