Fabian Schoneck Eliminates Another

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante
Fabian Schoneck
Fabian Schoneck

Just after sending a player to the rail, Fabian Schoneck got involved in another pot and took out another player.

The player under the gun limped, the next player limped, and Schoneck limped in the cutoff. The big blind raised to 500, the first limper called, the next limper folded, and Schoneck called.

On the {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, the big blind bet 800 and the next player folded. Schoneck raised to 3,000 and his opponent went all in for around 9,000. Schoneck called to put his opponent at risk.

Schoneck had {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} for threes full of fives against {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{X-}. The {4-Spades} turn changed nothing and the {6-Hearts} river only improved Schoneck to sixes full of threes. He eliminated his second opponent in one orbit and is at the top of the counts early in the day.

With a substantial pot already brewing and the board reading {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}. 2012 six-handed PLO bracelet winner Naoya Kihara got all in from the button against a single opponent who was under the gun.

Kihara showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for top two pairs and, when the board ran out with the {2-Clubs} on the turn and {10-Diamonds} on the river, he took the pot to send his opponent to the rail.

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Heads up with the board reading {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades} {8-Diamonds}, the player under the gun checked and Michael Krasienko checked back from the cutoff. On the {10-Spades} river, the first player bet 1,900 and Krasienko raised to 6,500. His opponent called and Krasienko tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for quad tens to win the pot.

The Defending Champion Takes His Seat

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy
Viatcheslav Ortynskiy

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy emerged victorious in this event last year, taking home $344,327 and his first gold bracelet for his efforts, and he's taken his seat today to make a run at back-to-back wins.

However, he's not the only PLO bracelet winner with his sights set on his second bracelet. Tyler Groth just won his first bracelet earlier this summer in Event #25: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, and he has recently joined the field as well.

Several more well-known players have also taken their seats recently in this event, including Andy Black, Bruno Fitoussi, Maxx Coleman, and Toby Joyce.

Loren Klein Going for Two in One Week?

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Loren Klein
Loren Klein

Loren Klein won his second WSOP gold bracelet earlier this week in Event #41: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha for $231,483. His first bracelet came in last year's series when he took down the $1,500 Mixed Pot-Limit Omaha/No-Limit Hold'em event for a payday of $241,427.

Apparently, pot-limit Omaha is his game. Compared to the tournaments he won, the buy-in today is twice as much and there are fewer players at each table. We will see how Klein fares in this format. He is currently seated at a table with Mike Sexton to his immediate right.
