Lodden Hates Vegas

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

After running his stack up to 70,000, doubling from his previous slide from starting stack, Johnny Lodden ran into a wall, losing all his chips to the same player at his table.

Lodden lost with a set of sixes twice and was finished off holding pocket kings to his opponent's pocket queens.

Lodden tweeted "Vegas I hate you" shortly after.

A Perfect River for Salvatore Dicarlo

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

With 4,125 in the pot on a flop of {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, the big blind checked, a player in early position bet 1,275, and Salvatore Dicarlo raised to 3,300 from the hijack. The cutoff folded, as did the big blind, and the early-position player called.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and the early-position player checked. Dicarlo bet 4,600 and his opponent went into the tank briefly before he called.

The {Q-Diamonds} fell on the river and Dicarlo's opponent checked again. After some consideration, Dicarlo bet 14,100 and his opponent called. Dicarlo tabled {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for queens full of kings, having filled up on the river, and his opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for flopped top pair, top kicker, and the rivered ace-high flush.

Kempe Doesn't Fire the River

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Rainer Kempe and Gordon Vayo went heads up to a flop of {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Vayo checked to the German on the button, and he fired out 1,800, about half the size of the pot. Vayo called, and both players decided to check the {2-Hearts} on the turn.

The river brought the {9-Clubs}, completing the flopped flush draw. Vayo tapped the felt for a third time, and Kempe thought for about a minute before he checked behind.

Vayo rolled over {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for two pair, and Kempe checked his hole cards one more time before sending them in.

John Smith Loses to Quad Aces

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
John Smith
John Smith

It's been a tough day for John Smith, but he's still battling in the Day 1c field of the Main Event.

In this hand, he opened to 700 from early position and was three-bet by Wyatt Ault to 1,400. Smith called and the flop came {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Both players checked. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and both players checked again.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and Smith bet 1,000. Ault immediately raised to 5,000 and, after some consideration, Smith called.

Ault showed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for quad aces and won the pot.

"Can't beat that!" said Smith, mucking.

"It's hard to play that one," replied Ault with a smile.

Smith still has an above starting stack midway through Level 3.
