Varma Cut Down and Left With Crumbs

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Action was on the flop with the board showing {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Hari Varma was on the button against one other player in the big blind. The player led out with a bet of 7,500 and Varma called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {A-Spades} on the river. There, the big blind led out again, making it 15,000. Varma thought about it for quite some time, but eventually he decided to call.

The player in the big blind showed down his {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for the nut straight and that would put Varma on the short stack as he mucked and was left with right around 9,000 chips.
