Can't Get Enough

Matusow is trying his luck at the Chinese poker again, this time with John Juanda sitting out and his place in the game taken by David Williams.

Stop! Break It Down...

The tournament clock has been paused while the players take their last 20-minute break of the day. The tournament staff is also assisting the players and dealers with a race off of the 25-denomination chips.

Play will resume at approximately 1:00 a.m. local time.

Everything's Coming Up Roses for Bloom

With the board reading {3-Hearts} {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}, Raul Paez bet and Tony Bloom called. Paez bet the {7-Hearts} river as well, and this time Bloom raised him. Call.

Paez: {8-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {J-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}
Bloom: {4-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {J-Spades}

Bloom took three quarters, and a very depressed-looking Paez received back his measly quarter.

The Battle of David and ...er...David

David Williams
David Williams

David Williams, Michael Binger, and David Benyamine are battling it out but Binger drops out when it gets too much on fifth street. The betting continues between the other two and after sixth street...

Williams is showing {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {A-Spades} to Benyamine's {3-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}.

Their last card is dealt face-down and both players check. Williams declares, "Aces," and shows {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. Benyamine mucks and Williams takes the pot.

Breathe Isaia Relief, It's All Over

Alessio Isaia is a goner. With mere shrapnel remaining of his once-proud stack, he raised and then called all in to a reraise from Istvan Novak. Andreas Hoivold decided to come along for the ride as well.

The board came down {3-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}, and Novak and Hoivold were content to check it down all the way to the river. Novak threw down pocket {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs}, Hoivold mucked, and Isaia picked up his coat and left.

The Fish Drowns

Jason Gray, Dave Ulliott and Gary Jones are all in a hand. Gray started out as the early aggressor, with the other two tagging along, but he dropped out on sixth street. Jones took up the mantle of the aggressor but couldn't shake off The Devilfish.

By the time seventh street had been dealt, Ulliott's board read {10-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {7-Spades} {6-Clubs} and Jones' read {A-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}.

Both players checked and Jones announced, "Ace high," and revealed {7-Clubs} {Q-?} x and he was very surprised when Ulliott mucked.

Jones is on 16,2000 now, whereas Ulliott went down to just 1,000.

This all went in on the next hand, and Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott was eliminated.
