Power Play

(Omaha)

An interesting hand seemed to be unravelling on Neil Channing's former table, the decision resting on a pensive-as-ever Huck Seed, after the action had gone: Seed limp, Michel Abecassis limp, Marc Goodwin raise to 5,600, Eric Cajelais call. After a few moments of deliberation, Seed made what appeared to be a reluctant fold - I imagine he smelt the potent sense of value - allowing Abecassis to call.

On the {3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Cajelias showed no hesitation in leading out for 12,000, which scared his two remaining opponents into folding quicker than a jet-propelled whippet. Seed, meanwhile, seemed rather frustrated, and dipped into the muck to reveal what he'd folded (although he may have been rabbit hunting).

Cajelias, who has biceps so powerful that they could snap my neck if I even looked at them without permission, climbs to 63,000, thus making him third in chips.

A-Men to That

(Omaha)

We arrived at the table to see Men Nguyen raking in an enormous pot and muttering to himself, his {A-?} {A-?} {Q-?} {9-?} hand face-up on the table and the board featuring a third ace. From this evidence, as well as the dealer's cry of, "Seat open!" we can deduce that Men Nguyen and his aces knocked out another player.

Nguyen's up to over 80,000.

Lisandro Doubles Up Opponent, Makes a Face

(Omaha)

Jeff Lisandro on the button was looking at an {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} flop, with 6,000 in the pot already. Furthermore, he was looking at a 5,350 all-in bet from his opponent in the small blind. He looked at these things for some time, before something in his brain apparently clicked, and he tossed in the call.

Lisandro: {A-Spades} {9-Spades} {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} for two pair, aces and fives
Mr. All In: {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and sixes

Lisandro made a face as though someone had just broken wind in his vicinity.

The {J-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river constituted blanks, and while his cheerful opponent doubled up, Lisandro dropped down to 12,000.

Feeling Down

(Omaha)

With the board reading {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Men Nguyen bet 3,500, only for John Kabbaj to make it 13,500 one seat along. Another player across the table thought for ages before conceding his hand, and with Nguyen rapidly folding, Kabbaj took the pot. "I had middle set with a seven," confessed the other player.

Whilst Kabbaj jumps up to 30,000, Nguyen is still flying high with 40,000, although you wouldn't know to look at him, as he's resisting any contact with the other players via his iPod, and wearing a menacing frown that suggests life isn't as rosy as it could be. Must be listening to The Smiths.
