With around 1,800 in the pot and a board reading

, Erik Cajelais checked from the big blind and watched his opponent in the cutoff bet 900. Cajelais thought long and hard before releasing his cards. It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us an excuse to let you know that the Canadian, who Event #2 £2,500 buy-in Pot Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha at the WSOP Europe back in 2009, is sitting with 2,625.
Meanwhile, both Roland Israelashivili and Govert Metaal have been eliminated, while Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi has late registered and is now in the field.

We didn't even see 12-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth enter this event, but apparently he came and went quickly. We saw the "Poker Brat" wandering the halls and asked if he was planning on playing Event #2: €1,100 No-Limit Hold'em.
"I lasted five hands," Hellmuth said implying that he did indeed play. Unfortunately for him, he won't be getting bracelet #13 here.

phil_hellmuth phil_hellmuth Lasted 5 hands in WSOPE #2! 1st hand str8 under str8, 3rd A-K all in vs Q-Q won, 4th 9-9 lost, 5th hand K-K all in vs A-J, A-Q + 10-10

Yesterday Marvin Rettenmaier late registered for this event and didn't have much luck as he busted fairly quickly. He opted to re-enter here on Day 1b and so far it's proven a wise decision.
In a recent hand, we stumbled upon the action with a board reading

and about 2,300 in the pot. An unknown player had checked from early position and Rettenmaier had taken the opportunity to move all in. His opponent only had 1,550 behinds and tank-called only to discover his
was no good against the
of Rettenmaier.
With 200 players remaining on Day 1b, Rettenmaier appears to be the chip leader.

Action folded around to Tristan Wade in the cutoff and he raised to 325, which was immediately three-bet to 850 from the player on the button. Both blinds got out of the way, Wade four-bet 2,200, and the button moved all in for right around 8,500. Wade made the call and it was off to the races.

Wade was behind and needed to improve, which he did on the

flop. The
turn improved the South Floridian to trips, while the harmless
river allowed him to knock out his opponent and chip up to 16,500.
