Dirty Diamond on the River Leaves Cajelais Shaking His Head

With 4,000 in the pot and a board reading {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}, Erik Cajelais bet pot and put the pressure on Alexandre Amiel, who had 3,625 behind. A call was made and the hands turned up.

Showdown
Cajelais: {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Amiel: {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}

"Diamond," Amiel said hoping to spike the river and survive. That's exactly what he did, much to the dismay of Cajelais, when the {K-Diamonds} peeled off. Cajelais put his hands to his head and looked on in disbelief as the dealer took the chips from his stack.

Meanwhile, Padraig Parkinson, Jonathan Duhamel and Tristan Wade have all been eliminated from the tournament.

Monnette Grabs Early Lead After Busting Selbst

John Monnette, who's still in contention for the WSOP Player of the Year award, has grabbed an early chip lead after busting Vanessa Selbst.

Monnette told us he won Selbst's final 2,500 chips after flopping top set against her top-two pair. The money went in on the flop, and Selbst could not improve.

Bonomo on a Roll

Dmitry Shilnikov got his last 3,000 or so all in on a flop of {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} holding {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, and he was out in front of Justin Bonomo's {J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Unfortunately for Shilnikov, the {Q-Hearts} turn completed Bonomo's straight draw and the {7-Spades} failed to pair the board.

Bonomo was pushed the pot and is already up to 22,000, while Shilnikov was left to take the long walk out the door.

Behbehani Falls To Ramdin

We caught the action on the flop that read {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and Salman Behbehani got his small stack all in against Victor Ramdin. This pot also meant, a close to certain, elimination for Ramdin who barely had his opponent covered.

Showdown:
Victor Ramdin: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Salman Behbehani: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The turn was the {10-Spades} giving Ramdin a full house, and Behbehani could not come back. The {4-Diamonds} completed the board, and Ramdin took down the pot.

Kassela Out

On a {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} flop Frank Kassela bet 525 and his opponent check-called. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and Kassela was put all in by his opponent for about 1,000.

Kassela called with {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}, but was up against {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Kassela did not catch a king or a queen on the river, and he was eliminated.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie

With 750 in the pot and a flop of {4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts}, Joe Hachem led out for 600 from the small blind only to have Micah Smith raise to 2,500 from the big, leaving himself just 800 behind. Rocco Palumbo folded from under the gun and Hachem splashed out a raise. Smith called off and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Hachem: {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Smith: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Hachem was ahead with two pair, but that wouldn't hold as the {8-Clubs} hit the turn followed by the {2-Hearts} river. Smith completed his flush draw for the double while Hachem took a small hit down to 11,000.
