John Racener Eliminated

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
John Racener
John Racener

After doubling through Dario Alioto not long ago, John Racener tried the very same fate again but this time the result was the exact opposite. Racener got it in with {A-}{10-}{4-}{3-} and Alioto looked him up with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The board came {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Alioto raked in the pot.

Racener Doubles His Short Stack

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Dario Alioto raised to 2,000 and John Racener moved all in for 6,400 just before the blinds were to go up, Alioto called.

John Racener: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Dario Alioto: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The board came {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Racener doubled.

Hellmuth Among Casualties

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth's attempt at running up a stack after late-registering in the dinner break was not crowned by success and he disappeared before the end of the level. Also out are Tal Shemon Cohen and Yehuda Cohen, while Rene Berude has joined the chip leaders with Ryan Hughes' former big stack being reduced to less than the average.

"There is Another Chance Tomorrow"

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante
Mike Leah

Picking up the action on the {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, Oskar Wolski in the small blind and Mike Leah on the button were enjoying some table banter with the former moaning "why did I raise?" There were 4,500 in front of Wolski and Leah had reraised to 16,500. "There is another chance tomorrow," Leah added with a smile on the face and Wolski eventually moved all in to pick up a snap call by Leah with near identical stacks.

Mike Leah: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Oskar Wolski: {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The {A-Hearts} turn and {3-Hearts} river completed the board and the stacks were counted. Wolski had 31,000 and Leah was covered, the Canadian left the table with "I really wish you guys good luck."

Obadia Rising

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante

The seat that formerly belonged to Georgios Zisimopoulos is now occupied by Kenny Hallaert while Barny Boatman and Alex Foxen chipped up significantly.

Just now Jose Obadia sent an opponent to the rail after defending his big blind to see a flop of {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Obadia check-raised and called the shove of the button with {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and faced {A-}{7-}{X-}{X-} for top two. The {3-Diamonds} turn instantly improved the Spaniard to a straight, and the {10-Spades} on the river was a blank.

Dinner Break on Day 1a

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

The calm after the thunderstorm has entered the poker arena of the King's Casino, as the remaining 74 players out of 213 entries were sent into a 60-minute dinner break. When they return, the tournament will switch into Freezeout mode and the payouts for the first starting day will be revealed. Whether or not they will be reached and only 12 players bag up before the end of level 18 remains to be seen.
