Romanello Coolers Volek

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jan Volek opened to 1,500 in middle position and Roberto Romanello made it 3,600 in the small blind. Volek came back with 7,500 and Romanello called.

Romanello checked the {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop and Volek bet 4,500. Romanello told the dealer he was all in, and Volek called off his last 12,000 or so.

Romanello: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Volek: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The turn and river were {8-Hearts} and {9-Diamonds} and Romanello's heater continued.

Players are now on break for 20 minutes.

Clinkscales On a Nub After Roller Coaster

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Rex Clinkscales
Rex Clinkscales

Rex Clinkscales made it 3,800 from middle position after Roberto Romanello put in an open to 1,400 on his right. Romanello came back with 8,900 and Clinkscales shipped it for a little over 26,000. Romanello called off.

Romanello: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Clinkscales: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop brought a flush draw for Romanello and he filled it right away with the {j-Spades} turn. Clinkscales had him covered by 1,600.

The American shoved that in next hand. The player on the button reshoved for what looked like about 9,000 and Kristen Bicknell woke up with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} in the big blind and put everyone at risk. Clinkscales had {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the third player {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, giving Clinkscales the main pot with kings up and Bicknell the larger side pot.

After that hand finished up, Romanello told us that Clinkscales had already survived when he jammed over a button open by Romanello for 12,600 and won with {k-}{q-} against {a-}{a-}. The end of the roller coaster left Clinkscales with about 10 big blinds.

Foxen Bounces One

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

On a flop of {3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Alex Foxen had defended his big blind and was putting player in the cutoff all in when we got to his table. The cutoff tabled {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} but got out of his seat when he saw Foxen had flopped trips with {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The turn was an {a-Clubs} and the river a {3-Diamonds} and Foxen added to one of the larger stacks in the room.

MacPhee Shows One

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

In for what we believe to be his second bullet of Day 1b, Kevin MacPhee fired 2,225 against two opponents who checked to him out of the blinds on {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}. Only the big blind called. On the {q-Spades} turn, the big blind checked after both looked at their hole cards again. MacPhee bet 4,200 and that convinced his opponent to relinquish the pot.

MacPhee turned over the {a-Spades} with a smile.

Top Full Again for Bicknell

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Kristen Bicknell moved all in from the big blind for about 7,000 effective on a completed board of {9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Her opponent in middle position hemmed and hawed for a bit before sighing and committing his remaining stack. Bicknell rolled over {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for jacks full and the other player sent {8-}{8-} into the muck.
