Less Than One Hour To Go Before The Main Event Restarts!

Robert Bickley
Robert Bickley

Day 4 of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe will start at noon local time here at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov. There are 46 players in the running for that coveted gold bracelet and the €1,115,207 for first place. Robert Bickley (1,431,000) took the chip lead last night when he eliminated Philipp Gruissem in the last hand of the day.

Next in the top of the chip counts is fellow Brit Jack Salter with 1,396,000. Salter arrived late in the series playing only a few events here. He finished in 19th place in the High Roller for ONE DROP and will be looking for another deep run in the Main Event. Third in the chip counts is Rainer Kempe with 1,254,000 chips. Kempe also made a deep run earlier this month when he finished in 12th place in the €25,000 High Roller and will be gunning for an even better result over the coming days.

But the other 43 players won’t sit still either. Defending champion, Kevin MacPhee (653,200) is still in it too and won’t let go easily. Two-time bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell has a top five stack with 1,085,000, fellow Canadian and bracelet winner Mike Leah is still in it too with 503,000 chips. 888poker Ambassador Parker Talbot (434,000) will be looking to add a live tournament win to his many online wins. And many more players including Niall Farrell, Ismael Bojang, Maria Lampropulos, Anthony Zinno, Maria Ho, Stoyan Obreshkov and Vlad Darie for example are still in the running.

According to the schedule, the players will be playing 6 or 7 90-minute levels with a break of 20 minutes after each level. There will be a 60- or 90-minute dinner break after the 4th level of play which should around 7 p.m. local time.

PokerNews will be here from when the first card has been dealt up till the winner has been crowned so keep following our updates!

Peters Busts; Zinno Doubles

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

While one American tournament regular busted in David Peters, another one scored a timely double early on Day 4.

Anthony Zinno raised to 26,000 from under the gun and Vishal Maini moved all in from the big blind. Zinno snap-called for 275,000 and the cards were turned over.

Anthony Zinno: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Vishal Maini: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and both players hit their set, though the jack on the river was rather a needle for Maini as Zinno was guaranteed the double up by then.

Salter Busts Smyth With Quads

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Peter Smyth
Peter Smyth

In late position, Peter Smyth raised to 30,000 and Jack Salter called in the cutoff. On the {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, Smyth continued for 42,000 and Salter called once more before Smyth announced a "random bet" on the {A-Hearts} turn and tossed in 81,000, leaving himself with just 160,000 behind. Salter called and the {8-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Smyth checked and Salter moved all in to see the fellow Brit call after some consideration. Salter turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for quads and Smyth's {A-Spades}{7-Spades} were briefly shown. There are now 40 players remaining and one table will break momentarily.

Angelou-Konstas Eliminated By MacDonnell

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ioannis Angelou-Konstas
Ioannis Angelou-Konstas

Maria Lampropulos raised to 26,000 from the button. Ioannis Angelou-Konstas shoved all in from the small blind for 178,000 in total. Marc MacDonnell snap-called from the big blind and Lampropulos quickly got out of the way.

Marc MacDonnell: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Ioannis Angelou-Konstas: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} - no help for Angelou-Konstas as the kings of MacDonnell held and Angelou-Konstas was eliminated.

"I had kings in the previous hand too. So back-to-back kings." MacDonnell said referring to the hand he had just played against David Hudson.

"Phew! I avoided a lot of pain there..." Hudson said as MacDonnell had a full house in the previous hand then.

Andrei Boghean
Andrei Boghean

Luis Rodriguez raised to 26,000 from mid-position. Andrei Boghean three-bet to 76,000 from the cutoff. Ismael Bojang, sitting in the big blind, decided to shove for about 400,000. Rodriguez folded immediately and Boghean snap-called.

Andrei Boghean: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Ismael Bojang: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades} - no help for Bojang and he got up to leave the tournament area as he was eliminated.

Mark Roberts
Mark Roberts

Mark Roberts jammed for 199,000 on the button and Vlad Darie got the count from the big blind. He didn't seem thrilled about it but called nonetheless.

Roberts: {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Darie: {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Roberts wasn't far behind, but he still needed help after the {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop. Unfortunately for him, the {4-Hearts} turn would end the sweat by giving Darie trips, and the {8-Spades} was the meaningless river.

Stephen Ayres

Stephen Ayres shoved for his last 34,000 from mid-position. Vlad Darie, sitting in the cutoff, asked how much it was. The dealer confirmed the amount and Darie took a stack of his own yellow 5,000-chips and put them in as a three-bet. Everyone else after him quickly folded.

Vlad Darie: {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Stephen Ayres: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} to give Darie a flush in the end and Ayres has been eliminated in 29th place.

Feature Table: Farrell Takes Down 800,000 Pot on the Flop

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell just took down a big hand which sparked a discussion at the table about what the correct play was after it was done.

The action started when Rainer Kempe raised from the hijack to 34,000. Kristen Bicknell called on the button. Niall Farrell was in the small blind and hesitated for a moment, then three-bet to 152,000. Maria Ho was in the big blind and she asked what Farrell had behind. He was sitting just over 1-million. Ho counted out what looked to be a raise, but instead just called.

Kempe and Bicknell both called behind and it was four ways to the flop. The flop came all hearts, {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Farrell took nearly four minutes before shoving all in for his remaining stack. Ho took about 40 seconds before folding and Kempe and Bicknell both folded in quick succession.

Farrell made a joke about how long it took, saying he was trying to figure out what the right move was. The others talked about it for a little, and it seemed like Bicknell was the only one willing to say what she had before the stream let everyone know.

Sebastian Langrock Eliminated in 28th Place (€26,530)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Sebastian Langrock
Sebastian Langrock

Kristen Bicknell raised to 44,000 from under the gun and Sebastian Langrock three-bet to 95,000 on the button. "How much did you start the hand with?" Bicknell asked and Langrock revealed that he had 102,000 behind. Bicknell moved all in and Langrock called it off.

Sebastian Langrock: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Kristen Bicknell: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The board of {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{A-Spades} gave Langrock a pair of tens on the turn only for Bicknell to spike the ace on the river, eliminating the 2017 WSOP bracelet winner in 28th place for €26,530.
