MacDonnell Takes From Hudson

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The board read {3-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and the pot had about 200,000 in it. Marc MacDonnell bet 91,000 from the under-the-gun position and David Hudson, sitting on the button, called.

The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds} and now MacDonnell bet 233,000 which sent Hudson into the tank. After a while Hudson decided to fold and the pot was awarded to MacDonnell.

Obreshkov Doubles Through Salter

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Stoyan Obreshkov bet 30,000 from the big blind on an {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop and Jack Salter made it 105,000 from his left. Obreshkov called and the turn was a {5-Spades}. He checked and called off the rest of his money, about 330,000.

Obreshkov: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Salter: {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The river bricked off for Obreshkov and he doubled through.

Salter Busts Smyth With Quads

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Peter Smyth
Peter Smyth

In late position, Peter Smyth raised to 30,000 and Jack Salter called in the cutoff. On the {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, Smyth continued for 42,000 and Salter called once more before Smyth announced a "random bet" on the {A-Hearts} turn and tossed in 81,000, leaving himself with just 160,000 behind. Salter called and the {8-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Smyth checked and Salter moved all in to see the fellow Brit call after some consideration. Salter turned over {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for quads and Smyth's {A-Spades}{7-Spades} were briefly shown. There are now 40 players remaining and one table will break momentarily.

Stephen Ayres shoved all in from the button and Vlad Darie, sitting in the big blind, asked for a count. The dealer counted it out but Darie already called when the dealer was still counting. Ayres was all in for 166,000 in total.

Stephen Ayres: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Vlad Darie: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} - no danger for Ayres and he doubled up.

Zyrin Out, Varnica Doubles

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Anatoliy Zyrin and Chi Zhang were involved in a pot and Zhang had 75,000 in front of him. Zyrin shoved all in for 197,000 and Zhang was debating his decision.

Zhang called and showed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Zyrin had pocket tens, {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. He stood up anxiously awaiting the flop and was deflated as soon as Zhang flopped two pair on the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop. The turn was the {5-Spades} and the river was the {8-Spades}.

Zyrin was eliminated.

Shortly after, Ante Varnica doubled through Abdelhakim Zoufri. Varnica shoved his last 176,000 and Zoufri shoved over the top from the small blind. He had {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} against the {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} of Varnica.

The board ran out {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Varnica doubled up.

Varnica Left With Crumbs

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We found Ante Varnica in the small blind and all in with {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} on a {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Unfortunately for him, he was up against the {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} of Marti Roca De Torres in the big blind. The board ran out {2-Diamonds} and {a-Diamonds} and Varnica had to ship 486,000 over, nearly all of his stack.

"How Can You Be Bluffing?"

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Ioannis Angelou-Konstas bet 158,000 on a completed board of {7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Spades} from the big blind. David Hudson shoved from the button. It looked like less than a full raise, and that wasn't lost on Angelou-Konstas.

"How can you be bluffing?" he asked.

Eventually, he folded.

Peters Busts; Zinno Doubles

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

While one American tournament regular busted in David Peters, another one scored a timely double early on Day 4.

Anthony Zinno raised to 26,000 from under the gun and Vishal Maini moved all in from the big blind. Zinno snap-called for 275,000 and the cards were turned over.

Anthony Zinno: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Vishal Maini: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and both players hit their set, though the jack on the river was rather a needle for Maini as Zinno was guaranteed the double up by then.
