Goenka Doubles Through Pavlyuchuk

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Oleg Pavlyuchuk won the first hand after the break against Hanh Tran and then raised to 85,000 first to act. Manish Goenka three-bet the pot for 275,000 in the big blind and Pavlyuchuk called after some consideration.

Goenka instantly moved all in after the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop for the last 135,000 and Pavlyuchuk asked for a count before making the call.

Manish Goenka: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Oleg Pavlyuchuk: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Pavlyuchuk had some outs but the {K-Spades} turn locked things up for Goenka, making the {7-Hearts} river a formality.

Pavlyuchuk forfeited his big blind, then jammed the button for fewer than two big blinds with the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Tran called in the big blind with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and the board came {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} to keep Pavlyuchuk in contention.

Updated Counts After Level 24 (full)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

In the last hand of the second table, Manish Goenka raised the pot and Oleg Pavlyuchuk three-bet the pot. Hanh Tran four-bet the pot and forced two folds with both claiming to have had pocket kings. Tran showed them aces and raked in a decent pot to recover some earlier losses.

Abitbol Triples Up; Second Break of the Day

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Tarek Sleiman raised to 60,000 and Romain Lewis on the button three-bet to 200,000. Jerome Abitbol called all in for 83,000 in the big blind and Alonso folded.

Jerome Abitbol: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Romain Lewis: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop gave Abitbol a flushdraw, and he improved to a full house on the {J-Spades} turn. A blank {2-Diamonds} river changed nothing anymore and Abitbol essentially tripled up. Right after the players headed into their second 15-minute break of the day.

Tran Loses Two Pots

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Christopher Back check-shoved into Hanh Tran in a battle of the blinds to pick up a hefty continuation bet by Tran and soon after the one-time WSOP bracelet winner would take another hit.

The flop showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Michael Magalashvili check-jammed into a bet of Tran, who quickly folded. Magalashvili flashed the {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair and royal flush draw.

Toni Haemaelaeinen Eliminated in 13th Place (€2,488)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Toni Haemaelainen
Toni Haemaelainen

It started rather innocent with a limp by Toni Haemaelaeinen in early position and Tarek Sleiman raised the pot from one seat over, making it 135,000 to go. Once the action was back on the Finn, Haemaelaeinen moved all in for around 370,000 and Sleiman called.

Toni Haemaelaeinen: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Tarek Sleiman: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Haeamaelaeinen was ahead but not happy at all with the showdown, and he would see the board run out {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} to give Sleiman two pair on turn and river. Haemaelaeinen was eliminated in 13th place for €2,488 and all remaining 12 players are guaranteed at least €3,121 for their efforts.

Back Wins a Small One Off Magalashvili

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Michael Magalashvili raised to 75,000 in the cutoff and was called by Christopher Back in the big blind. The Canadian checked the {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop and Magalashvili continued for 65,000, Back called. There was no further betting action on the {2-Hearts} turn and {10-Hearts} river, and Back's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} won the pot.

Dor Mey Tal Eliminated in 14th Place (€2,488)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Dor Mey Tal
Dor Mey Tal

On the heads-up flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, Hanh Tran bet the pot and Dor Mey Tal moved all in for what appeared to be 520,000. Tran called with the words "I have one flush blocker" once he saw the cards of his opponent.

Dor Mey Tal: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Hanh Tran: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The {5-Clubs} turnand the {K-Clubs} river failed to improve Tal, who had led the field after Day 1A, and he was eliminated in 14th place for €2,488. Tran, who won his first gold bracelet in Deuce to Seven this summer in Las Vegas, jumped into the top spot with 13 players remaining.

Lewis Takes A Chunk Off Sarnow

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

In a blind battle, the board was reading {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades} and Lewis check-called a bet of 150,000 from Sarnow. On the {3-Spades} river, Lewis decided to lead out for 175,000 and Sarnow called after nearly two minutes.

Lewis showed {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for the nut flush and Sarnow mucked with a disgusted look on his face.

Max Pescatori Eliminated in 15th Place (€2,022)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori

Dor Mey Tal raised to 80,000 in middle position and action folded to a short-stacked Max Pescatori in the big blind. He shoved over the top for just a bit more and Tal splashed in the few extra chips.

Max Pescatori: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Dor Mey Tal: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Tal's kings remained ahead on {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and the 'Italian Pirate''s attempt to win his fifth WSOP bracelet came up short in 15th place.
