Another Four Down the Drain

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Alexander Bachmann got it in with the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-}{4-} against the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} of Luchezar Pumpalov and the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop was as bad as it could get for Bachmann. However, he found some hope on the {2-Hearts} turn only for the {6-Clubs} river to brick off.

It didn't take long for the next short stacks to get it in and Sergei Popov, Michael Juen and David Boyaciyan were all eliminated.

Juen was at risk with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Romain Lewis called with {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} on the {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. The {3-Spades} turn was a blank, but Lewis got there with the {K-Spades} river.

Deeb Busts in Big Pot Against Rothaermel

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb was spotted on the way out of the tournament area and the cards at his table were still visible with Martin Rothaermel dragging in a massive pot.

Deeb had some 450,000 left when the stacks went in after a flop of {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the following cards were turned over:

Shaun Deeb: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Martin Rothaermel: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Deeb was marginally ahead with his overpair and second nut flush draw, but Rothaermel had a ton of outs. The {7-Diamonds} turn was a blank, but the {5-Clubs} fell on the river to give Rothaermel not only the straight but also the nut flush. Deeb, who started the day second in chips, has been eliminated in 38th place.

Diaz Loses Two in a Row

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Michal Mrakes doubled Tarek Sleiman when his flopped two pair with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} could not hold up against the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} of Sleiman. They got it in after the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, the {A-Spades} turn and {Q-Hearts} river improved Sleiman to the nut straight.

Guillaume Diaz then doubled Hael Al Labani and Norbert Burkhard in quick succession to drop some of his early profit.

Burkhard ended up all in and at risk on the {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop and tabled the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a wrap and flush draw. Diaz had the {K-Spades}{X-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and the {9-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river gave Burkhard a straight.

Shortly after, Roland Israelashvili was eliminated on a different table to reduce the field to the last 39 hopefuls.

Dario Alioto

Dario Alioto was left short after missing a lot of outs in a previous showdown and he would do so again when he was at risk himself against Christopher Back.

Dario Alioto: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Christopher Back: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop gave Alioto a ton of outs, but he bricked off on the {3-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river.

Rothaermel Doubles Through Pavlyuchuk

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

In a three-bet pot to the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop, Oleg Pavlyuchuk and Martin Rothaermel clashed and the latter ended up all in and at risk for more than 220,000.

Martin Rothaermel: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Oleg Pavlyuchuk: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The {9-Spades} turn and {3-Diamonds} river kept Rothaermel's hand best and he doubled, leaving Pavlyuchuk short.

Sergei Popov and Guillaume Diaz
Sergei Popov and Guillaume Diaz

Sebastian Obermeier raised to 22,000 and Netanel Amedi three-bet the pot out of the small blind with a total stack of around 180,000. Obermeier pushed all in and Amedi called.

Netanel Amedi: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Sebastian Obermeier: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The board came {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Amedi was eliminated.

Shortly after, Vasile Strugari had most of his chips in preflop and ended up all in and at risk on the {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, Guillaume Diaz called.

Vasile Strugari: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Guillaume Diaz: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}

"King one time," Strugari said and Diaz just shook his head. The board completed with the {9-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river and Strugari headed to the rail as well, while Diaz continued his meteoric rise in the first level of the day.

Popov Doubles Through Al Labani

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Michal Mrakes doubled and Sergei Popov did so one table over shortly after.

On the heads-up turn of {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}, Hael Al Labani in the small blind bet and called the shove of Popov for 69,000 in the big blind. Popov turned over the {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} for a straight and Al Labani only held {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. The meaningless {5-Spades} completed the board on the river and Popov bumped his stack to 22 big blinds.
