Neuville's Check-Raise Gets Through

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Pierre Neuville was in a hand from middle position with a {8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} board on the flop. He bet 12,000 and his opponent was Agostino Pecorario who check-called from the small blind.

The {a-Diamonds} came on the turn and Pecorario led for 14,000 but Neuville raised to 35,000, which was enough to make his opponent fold.

Neuville showed a {7-Diamonds} before stacking the new chips in his stack.

Top Pair is Good for Afllalo

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Enes Avdagic raised to 7,000 on the button and Lior Afllalo defended from the big blind. The flop fell {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Afllalo checked to Avdagic who continued for 4,000. Afllalo called and the {7-Hearts} paired the board on the turn.

Afllalo checked again and Avdagic moved out a bet of 14,000 this time. Afllalo stuck around for the {5-Spades} on the river where both players tapped the table. Afllalo turned over {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for two pair and Avdagic mucked his cards.

Turan Finds Flush to Double Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Sinan Turan was all in from the button and at risk, holding {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} against Oliver Frey's {a-Spades}{10-Spades} from the cutoff.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} giving top pair to Frey but Turan found more outs, with a flush draw. The {q-Hearts} on the turn was the end of the day since Turan made a flush and Frey was drawing dead. The {7-Spades} river couldn't change anything and Frey gave a part of his stack to Turan.

Campbell Eyeing a Day 2 Stack

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Robert Campbell has been putting in his best effort to put some chips in a bag for Day 2 since the Colossus got underway nearly a week ago. He hasn't been able to do so yet but today might be his best and last chance for it.

The action folded to Mario Heissmann in the small blind who just limped in and then called when Campbell made it 12,000 in the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Heissmann check-called a bet of 8,000 from Campbell.

The turn was the {q-Clubs} and both players checked to the {7-Diamonds} on the river. Heissmann led out this time for 15,000 and Campbell instantly called. Heissmann showed {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} but Campbell had {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} to earn the pot.

Tsang Dumps His Stack to Hasenberg

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Anson Tsang
Anson Tsang

Michael Hasenberg opened to 5,000 in early position and Anson Tsang three-bet to 18,000 on the button. Hasenberg just called to see a flop of {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}. Hasenberg checked to Tsang who continued with a bet and Hasenberg check-raised to 36,000. Tsang shipped all in for 67,500 and Hasenberg went into the tank before making the call.

Michael Hasenberg: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Anson Tsang: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Tsang got caught bluffing but picked up some outs on the {q-Spades} turn card. The {2-Diamonds} on the river was a brick and Tsang was eliminated, handing over a hefty stack to Hasenberg.

Cakar Hits River to Bust Alessi

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Volkan Cakar had to make a tough decision after Donato Alessi's shove on a {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} board.

Cakar finally called with {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and he needed to find a diamond against Alessi's {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} with a flopped straight.

The {4-Diamonds} on the river brought disappointment to Alessi sending him to the rail.
