Jouhkimainen Takes the Lead

Level 21 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Ermanno Di Nicola raised to 180,000 in the cutoff and was called by Joni Jouhkimainen in the big blind. The duo checked the {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop and Jouhkimainen bet the {q-Spades} turn for 360,000. Di Nicola flashed his cards to Armando D'Avanzo and folded.

"Show one show all" was applied as the {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} were exposed.

Krzysztof Magott Eliminated in 10th Place (€14,797)

Krzysztof Magott
Krzysztof Magott

Joni Jouhkimainen raised to 160,000 and Krzysztof Magott potted to 540,000 out of the small blind with some 660,000 behind. Jouhkimainen carefully checked the stack of his opponent before making the call.

The {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop brought the shove by Magott and Jouhkimainen instantly called.

Krzysztof Magott: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Joni Jouhkimainen: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

"That doesn't look too good," Magott said with a dry smile. He still had some outs and gained more equity with his superior flush draw on the {7-Diamonds} turn. However, the {2-Clubs} river was a blank and Magott was eliminated in 10th place. The remaining nine players will redraw to the unofficial final table after the break.

Jouhkimainen Wins Showdown Pot Versus Di Nicola

Level 20 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Armando D'Avanzo raised to 210,000 on the button and then folded when Krzysztof Magott repotted to 630,000 in the small blind.

Soon after, Joni Jouhkimainen raised to 160,000 from under the gun and Ermanno Di Nicola defended the big blind. On the {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, Di Nicola check-called for 140,000 and earned a call. Both elected to check the {10-Hearts} turn and Di Nicola bet the {j-Spades} river for 255,000.

Jouhkimainen called and Di Nicola briefly showed the cards but mucked when his table neighbour revealed the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-}{6-Spades} for the top two pair.

Doubles for Medarov and Karakitukov

Level 20 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

On Table #95, Nikola Minkov and Veselin Karakitukov were all-in with the latter covered.

Veselin Karakitukov: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Nikola Minkov: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Karakitukov flopped the nut flush on the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} for a much needed pot.

Then immediately after on the adjacent table Armando D'Avanzo and Vasil Medarov shipped their stacks in the middle on the {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop.

Vasil Medarov: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Armando D'Avanzo: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Medarov boated up on the {9-Hearts} to seal the check mark and leap frog his opponent in the chip leaderboard.

The Big Stacks Go To War

Level 20 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Armando D'Avanzo raised and earned a call from Vasil Medarov in the small blind. Ermanno Di Nicola potted and D'Avanzo then repotted for Medarov to fold and Di Nicola to get his stack in for a massive pot.

Ermanno Di Nicola: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Armando D'Avanzo: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} board gave both players a full house. Di Nicola thought it was a guaranteed chop by the turn but either player could have paired their low card to win the pot. Instead, it was indeed a chop between the two Italians.

Omar Eljach Eliminated in 11th Place (€14,797)

Level 20 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Omar Eljach
Omar Eljach

Vasil Medarov raised to 175,000 in the cutoff and Omar Eljach jammed for 210,000 on the button, which Joni Jouhkimainen in the big blind and Medarov called. On a flop of {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, Jouhkimainen checked and folded when Medarov bet the pot.

Omar Eljach: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Vasil Medarov: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades}

"I am in good shape against that hand," Eljach said once the cards were turned over. However, the {k-Clubs} turn gave Medarov broadway and the {2-Spades} river was a brick to eliminate Eljach in 11th place for €14,797.
