Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Renat Bohdanov raised to 4,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Timothy Adams in the big blind. Adams then put in a three-bet to 20,200 and Bohdanov made the call.

The 9Q7 flop was then checked by Adams, after which Bohdanov retook the initiative by betting 8,500. Adams still stuck around with a call before both players checked the 2 turn.

Adams put in his first postflop bet on the 8 river, of 22,000 chips. Bohdanov thought it over for a while before reluctantly putting in a call.

Adams showed QQ for top set and Bohdanov flashed his AA, indicating that he was considering folding his rockets on the river.

Arturo Paduano had jammed preflop for 135,300 and Jonas Hagström went into the tank before he called.

Once Hagström tabled his QQ, Paduano shrugged and sighed as he was caught on a move with the Q9.

The board ran out 101089A and that spelled the end for Paduano.

"Merry Christmas," Ermanno Di Nicola joked to the Swede.

Arriving on a turn on 8A6K, Alex Keating shoved in his stack of 350,000 from the hijack, in a pot that had already grown to a massive size of 125,000.

Dorian Melchers was his opponent and sat in the cutoff. Melchers played around 300,000 himself and was deep in the tank regarding this decision. Eventually, he pushed in all of his chips, and the two hands were revealed.

Dorian Melchers: A5

Keating's set was up against the flush draw of Melchers. The river was red, but the 7 was not the suit Melchers was looking for. He was eliminated from the Main Event in an enormous clash that saw Keating chip up to three times the average stack.
