Martinez Abad Chips Up Against Angelou-Konstas

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Following two limps, Miguel Martinez Abad squeezed to 46,000 in the big blind and the only caller was Ioannis Angelou-Konstas. They checked the K76 flop and Martinez Abad check-called the 2 turn for 26,000.

Both checked again the A river and Martinez Abad won the pot with the QQ.

Brewer Moves In Last Blind

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Chris Brewer was left with just 6,000, enough to cover the big blind, and put in his last chips under the gun. Agostino Scozzari called, while Jun Beum Chun raised to 30,000 in middle position. The rest of the table folded, but Scozzari then reshoved and Chun got out of the way.

Chris Brewer: 54
Agostino Scozzari: AK

Scozzari made two pair on the QKQ flop and Brewer was already out of his seat and headed for the exit by the time the dealer flipped over the K turn and 2 river.

Blom Plays the Waiting Game

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

Christian Dressler raised to 12,000 from the button and Viktor Blom three-bet to 53,000 from the big blind. Dressler then four-bet jammed for 215,000 and Blom called quicker than lightning with the covering stack.

Christian Dressler: 1010
Viktor Blom: AA

Blom had Dressler drawing dead on the turn on 478A2, and he added some fresh chips to his stack.

"This is how I play, I just wait for aces," explained the admittedly infamously passive "Isildur1" as he was stacking up.

Battle of the Christoph(e)s

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Christophe Sanchez opened to 13,000 from the cutoff before Christoph Kapitza jammed for 107,000 from the button. Sanchez then spent several minutes in the tank and apoligised for it.

Just before the hand got underway, Nacho Barbero was speaking to Rehman Kassam.

Barbero told his tablemate, "I don't know how you're still in the tournament." Kassam then claimed he'd been "rogered" all day but still found himself with a more than 40 big blind stack.

As Sanchez continued to mull over his option, Barbero then started a round of applause while watching an NFL game on his phone. Whether it was because he won a bet or his team scored, PokerNews wasn't too sure.

Enough time passed, and the clock was called. As the timer began, Sanchez called.

Christoph Kapitza: KJ
Christophe Sanchez: 1010

The table inferred that Sanchez's hand was a snap-call and didn't seem too fond of how much time they had missed out on.

Kapitza paired up on the KQ8Q3 runout to secure the double up.

Gallo Eliminated by Lampropulos

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Gianluca Gallo raised to 13,000 and received three callers in total, which led to the 822 flop. It checked to Faramarz Safari who bet 28,000 and Maria Lampropulos called, Paulius Vaitiekunas folded. Gallo then check-raised to 60,000 and Safari folded, while Lampropulos called.

Gallo jammed the 8 turn for 108,000 and Lampropulos snap-called.

Gianluca Gallo: AA
Maria Lampropulos: A8

Gallo tossed his chips into the middle of the table in disgust and quickly exited once the K river officially ended his run in the tournament just shy of making Day 3.

Rezaei Wakes Up With Jacks

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Armin Rezaei
Armin Rezaei

Andrea Radicchi raised to 12,000 under the gun and Hal Rotholz called in the hijack. Agostino Scozzari then moved all in for 450,000 on the button as action folded to Armin Rezaei in the big blind. He also shoved for 390,000 and Radicchi folded, while Rotholz laid down what he later claimed was ace-king.

Armin Rezaei: JJ
Agostino Scozzari: A10

Rezaei was ahead with his jacks as the board ran out K52Q7, keeping him in the lead and earning last year's finalist a double up with just a few minutes remaining in the night. Rotholz could only laugh after the hand about missing an opportunity to bust both players.

Another Hand, Another Floorman to Table 98

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Aliaksandr Shylko opened for 12,000 chips from the hijack and Ismet Oral made it 35,000 to go from the cutoff. The action then eventually folded to Jens Lakemeier in the big blind, who put out a four-bet to 70,000.

Both of his opponents folded and Lakemeier raked in the pot.

Amidst the hand, Lakemeier and Andrej Desset were once again accusing each other of swearing at each other. The floor was called over once more, but, just like last time, no penalties were given out.

Di Nicola Ends With Big River Bet

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ermanno Di Nicola and Andrei Boghean went heads-up to a flop of 8A5 where Di Nicola bet 15,000 from early position.

Boghean called in middle position and the 3 fell on the turn. Di Nicola continued for another 41,000 and Boghean again called.

The river was the 8 and Di Nicola fired out 110,000 this time. Boghean spent several minutes in the tank as players at other tables began bagging up their chips before he mucked.

Lampropulos Finishes Strong

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With 155,000 in the middle to the Q94 flop, Maria Lampropulos bet 58,000 out of the small blind and Renat Bohdanov called on the button. Lampropulos then pondered about her next move on the 6 turn before she announced all-in, Bohdanov instantly folded.
