Georgios Tsouloftas raised to 120,000 under the gun, and Antonio Fragale called in the hijack.
Tsouloftas continued for 80,000 on the 9♠5♠5♥ flop and Fragale called. Both players then checked the Q♥ turn.
Tsouloftas bet 300,000 on the A♣ river, and Fragale snap-called. Tsouloftas showed A♠J♥ for two pair, but Fragale had A♥9♥ for aces and nines to win the pot.
The next hand at this table, Konstantinos Nanos raised to 150,000 in the hijack and was called by Matjaz Vogrinec and Tsouloftas in the blinds.
The flop came 9♠5♥2♥ and Nanos bet 275,000. Vogrinec then raised to 650,000, and Tsouloftas folded, but Nanos moved all in for 1,300,000. Vogrinec quickly called.
Konstantinos Nanos: J♥J♣
Matjaz Vogrinec: 9♣7♣
Nanos was ahead with his two jacks against Vogrinec's top pair, but Vogrinec hit the 7♥ on the turn to make two pair as Nanos smashed the table with his fist in frustration.
The river, though, was the 4♥ to give Nanos a flush, and he calmly took in the double-up.
Jose Scarano opened to 120,000, and Elia Salerno in the cutoff three-bet to 280,000. Rene Schnitzler in the big blind four-bet jammed, and Scarano moved in over the top.
Salerno sighed and leaned back in his chair to then ask for a count on Scarano's shove. Schnitzler was all-in for 865,000, barely covered by Scarano, after which Salerno folded.
Rene Schnitzler: K♣K♥
Jose Scarano: Q♥Q♣
"You folded an ace?" Schnitzler asked.
Salerno replied, "Tens, I folded pocket tens."
The board ran out J♦9♠3♣8♦A♣ and the kings held for Schnitzler to double, while Scarano was left with fewer than two blinds.
Rene Schnitzler raised to 125,000, and Elia Salerno pushed all in from the small blind, which he had done a few times before to increase his stack with sheer pressure on his opponents.
Christian Schneider in the big blind asked for a count on Salerno's shove, which was for 3,675,000, and then called all in for 530,000. Schnitzler sigh-folded and shrugged.
Christian Schneider: K♠K♥
Elia Salerno: A♠J♠
The suited ace of Salerno connected for an inferior pair on the J♦5♦3♠ flop, but found no further improvement on the 10♣ turn or 8♦ river.
"Nut flush," Schnitzler groaned. "The only way I win the hand is with open push," Schnitzler added in table chat with his neighbor Yuhan Wang.
Matjaz Vogrinec raised to 100,000 on the button and Georgios Tsouloftas called in the small blind. Antonio Fragale then moved all in for 940,000 in the big blind, and Vogrinec quickly folded, but Tsouloftas ended up burning through a few time banks before calling.
Antonio Fragale: J♣10♣
Georgios Tsouloftas: 6♠6♣
With 2,000,000 at stake, Fragale took the lead on the J♠2♣A♠ flop with a pair of jacks. The A♥ turn improved him to two pair, while the Italian rail erupted in celebration once the 9♦ fell on the river.
Matthias Gude opened the action with a raise to 100,000 and Georgios Tsouloftas three-bet to 280,000 out of the big blind. After using one time bank, Gude called and they both checked the A♦6♠4♦ flop. Tsouloftas bet the 4♥ turn for 135,000 and won the pot uncontested. He had previously earned two other pots to recover all of his previous chip losses and some.
