Jaros and Jachtmann Clash... Twice

Level 11 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

During the first hand, Patrik Jaros raised to 32,000 from the middle position and only Jan-Peter Jachtmann called from the hijack. The flop came J66, Jaros check-called the 50,000 bet of Jachtmann. They both checked through the 9 on the turn to the 2 on the river. Jaros bet 50,000 for Jachtmann to call and muck when Jaros showed the J9 for two pair.

On the next hand, Jaros raised the same amount but now from under the gun. Jachtmann three-bet to 80,000, and Jaros called.

The flop came A8J. Jaros considered his options and checked, but the dealer didn't seem to notice and kept looking at Jaros while the shot clock continued to run. After it ran through thirty seconds three times, Jachtmann asked if the dealer wasn't supposed to warn the player when the shot clock was at five seconds and if Jaros wasn't supposed to pay two time banks already. Jaros said he had checked, but the dealer claimed not to have seen the check.

A discussion followed; in the end, Jaros didn't have to give up any time banks, and Jachtmann bet 100,000 while holding 114,000 behind. Jaros shoved with the bigger stack, and Jachtmann was not happy.

"Something is wrong," Jachtmann commented. "Something is not right," he added. But he made the call.

Jan-Peter Jachtmann: QQ All in
Patrik Jaros: QJ

"Oh," Jachtmann said with relief. "Thank you," he added with a smile once he saw the cards and the table laughed.

Jaros had flopped middle pair but Jachtmann held the higher pair in his hand.

The rest of the board was completed with the 3 on the turn and the 7 on the turn for Jachtmann to double up.

Back and Forth

Level 10 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The chips have been going back and forth on the table.

First, Ioannis Angelou Konstas in the small blind and Patrik Jaros in the cutoff played heads-up with a pot of 74,000 in the middle with a flop of A86. Angelou Konstas check-called the 25,000 bet of Jaros. The turn was the 8 and Konstas took over the initiative and led out with a bet of 31,000, which Jaros called. The river completed the board with the 5, and Konstas checked and folded when Jaros bet 80,000.

Then Jaros raised to 25,000 from the hijack, and Jan-Peter Jachtmann called in the cutoff. Alessio La Francesca defended his big blind. The flop came 336, La Francesca checked, Jaros bet 25,000, Jachtmann raised to 75,000, and only Jaros called. The 9 on the turn was good enough for Jachtman to put 210,000 in for Jaros to snap-fold.
