Karlic Gives Up on the River

Level 33 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Gerald Karlic raised to 1,100,000 on the button with 109, Daniel Pidun three-bet to 3,700,000 holding KQ, and Karlic called.

The flop came Q65 and Pidun bet 2,800,000. Karlic quickly folded.

Karlic opened again a few hands later, making it 1,100,000 with 103. Pidun called with Q6 and they saw a flop of Q75.

Karlic bet 800,000 with his flush draw, and Pidun called with top pair. The turn was the K and Karlic bet another 2,800,000. Pidun again called.

Pidun checked the 3 river, and Karlic checked back this time and gave up the pot.

Karlic Traps With a Full House

Daniel Pidun opened to 1,100,000 with the 73 on the button and Gerald Karlic called out of the big blind holding the KJ. The 998 flop was checked to the 3 turn on which Karlic checked again. Pidun bet 1,200,000 and Karlic called, leading them to the 5 on the river.

Both players checked and Pidun won the pot with his trey.

Karlic made it 1,100,000 to go from his next button with the 33 and Pidun called with the K8 to take the lead on AAK. Pidun check-called for 700,000 and the 3 turn gave Karlic the two-outer for a full house. Pidun checked again and Karlic checked it back to the 4 on the river.

Pidun made it 2,800,000 to go and Karlic gave him a stare down before electing to raise big to 16,000,000. No call followed but Karlic wrestled his way back into the lead.

Pidun Catches Karlic Bluffing

Gerald Karlic opened to 1,250,000 with the Q9 and Daniel Pidun called out of the big blind with K3. The 964 flop gave Karlic the lead with top pair, and Pidun check-folded to a bet of 2,000,000.

Pidun then opened to 1,100,000 with the 102, and Karlic three-bet the 62 to 3,500,000. This time, Pidun stuck around to see the Q108 flop on which he hit middle pair. Both players checked and did again on the 9 turn, which led them to the 4 river. Karlic bet 2,500,000, and Pidun called to claim the pot, pulling ahead by some margin.

Karlic Gets Some Back With a Check-Raise

Daniel Pidun raised to 800,000 with the J10 and was called by Gerald Karlic with the J8. They checked the 755 flop to the 6 turn on which Karlic's bet of 1,500,000 took down the pot uncontested.

Karlic continued his button raising strategy with 900,000 holding the 82. Pidun three-bet to 2,600,000 with the A2 and Karlic tossed his cards into the muck.

Pidun min-raised the next button with 76 and Karlic defended off the 54. The 1033 flop didn't provide much excitement when Karlic checked and Pidun bet 600,000. However, Karlic then check-raised to 2,000,000 and Pidun folded.

A few hands later, Karlic opened to 900,000 on the button with Q6 and Pidun called holding K7.

Both players checked the 987 flop. Pidun then led out for 1,000,000 on the Q turn and Karlic called with a pair of queens.

Pidun checked over to Karlic on the 2 river, and Karlic's bet of 2,600,000 earned him the pot.
