Karlic Gives Up on the River

Gerald Karlic raised to 1,100,000 on the button with 10♦9♦, Daniel Pidun three-bet to 3,700,000 holding K♦Q♦, and Karlic called.

The flop came Q♣6♣5♣ and Pidun bet 2,800,000. Karlic quickly folded.

Karlic opened again a few hands later, making it 1,100,000 with 10♦3♦. Pidun called with Q♥6♥ and they saw a flop of Q♣7♦5♦.

Karlic bet 800,000 with his flush draw, and Pidun called with top pair. The turn was the K♠ and Karlic bet another 2,800,000. Pidun again called.

Pidun checked the 3♠ river, and Karlic checked back this time and gave up the pot.

Daniel Pidun opened to 1,100,000 with the 7♣3♦ on the button and Gerald Karlic called out of the big blind holding the K♦J♠. The 9♥9♣8♠ flop was checked to the 3♥ turn on which Karlic checked again. Pidun bet 1,200,000 and Karlic called, leading them to the 5♣ on the river.

Both players checked and Pidun won the pot with his trey.

Karlic made it 1,100,000 to go from his next button with the 3♠3♦ and Pidun called with the K♥8♣ to take the lead on A♥A♣K♦. Pidun check-called for 700,000 and the 3♥ turn gave Karlic the two-outer for a full house. Pidun checked again and Karlic checked it back to the 4♥ on the river.

Pidun made it 2,800,000 to go and Karlic gave him a stare down before electing to raise big to 16,000,000. No call followed but Karlic wrestled his way back into the lead.

Karlic then opened to 1,100,000 on the button with J♠J♦ and Pidun three-bet to 3,700,000. Karlic four-bet to 8,200,000, and Pidun called.

Karlic bet 3,500,000 on the 10♣10♦7♦ flop, and Pidun folded A♥5♣.

Pidun then opened to 1,100,000 with the 10♦2♦, and Karlic three-bet the 6♠2♠ to 3,500,000. This time, Pidun stuck around to see the Q♥10♣8♦ flop on which he hit middle pair. Both players checked and did again on the 9♣ turn, which led them to the 4♥ river. Karlic bet 2,500,000, and Pidun called to claim the pot, pulling ahead by some margin.

Daniel Pidun raised to 800,000 with the J♥10♥ and was called by Gerald Karlic with the J♠8♥. They checked the 7♦5♥5♠ flop to the 6♠ turn on which Karlic's bet of 1,500,000 took down the pot uncontested.

Karlic continued his button raising strategy with 900,000 holding the 8♥2♥. Pidun three-bet to 2,600,000 with the A♥2♠ and Karlic tossed his cards into the muck.

Pidun min-raised the next button with 7♦6♠ and Karlic defended off the 5♥4♥. The 10♦3♥3♣ flop didn't provide much excitement when Karlic checked and Pidun bet 600,000. However, Karlic then check-raised to 2,000,000 and Pidun folded.

Pidun checked over to Karlic on the 2♣ river, and Karlic's bet of 2,600,000 earned him the pot.
