Gerald Karlic opened the button to 800,000 with the J♣9♥ and Murilo Garcia defended the A♦2♣ to see a flop of J♦9♣7♥. Garcia opted to check his ace-high and Karlic continued for 575,000. Garcia wasted little time to send his cards into the muck.

The Brazilian then limped the 9♠7♦ in the next hand, and Karlic raised to 1,400,000 with the Q♦8♣. Garcia called, and the duo headed to the K♣7♠2♦ flop. He checked and then called Karlic's bet of 800,000 for the J♠ to appear on the turn.

Both players checked through to the 7♣ on the river, which gave Garcia trips. He bet 3,700,000 into 4,200,000, and Karlic folded.

Murilo Garcia picked up A♦K♦ in the small blind and limped in. Gerald Karlic checked back J♥8♦ and they saw a flop of 10♦8♠7♠.

Both players checked to the K♣ turn, where Garcia bet 500,000 with top pair. Karlic called with a pair of eights, and the 4♣ fell on the river.

Garcia bet 3,000,000, and Karlic thought for a moment before folding.

Daniel Pidun raised to 800,000 on the button with the A♥9♥ and Murilo Garcia three-bet to 3,000,000 out of the small blind holding the A♣3♣. Gerald Karlic in the big blind then four-bet small to 6,600,000 with 10♥10♣ and Pidun got out of the way.

Garcia then five-bet jammed after little consideration for massive 22,450,000 and Karlic vaulted out of his chair to gander at the stack at the other side of the table before making the call.

The 9♦8♣2♦ flop gave Garcia running clubs as possible outs and he made an inferior pair on the 3♥ turn. However, no further help came with the 7♥ river and the Brazilian went from near chip leader to third place finisher with a payday of €525,000 secured.

On the first hand of heads-up play, Gerald Karlic raised to 1,000,000 on the button and Daniel Pidun called.

The flop came A♦6♦Q♥ and Karlic bet 600,000. Pidun called and they both checked the J♦ turn.

The river was the 4♠ and Karlic bet 5,400,000. Pidun then moved all in for 14,275,000.

Karlic threw in all of his time banks and stood up from his seat to get a good look at Pidun's stack. He spent a few minutes in the tank before flicking in a chip to signify a call. Pidun then showed 8♦2♦ for a flush, and Karlic's 4♥4♣ went into the muck.
