Valeri Gonta has had a great start to the Main Event, and is up to around 245,000 after winning the latest hand.
Saeed Rehman opened to 1,100 from early position and Gonta made it 5,000 to go in the hijack. When it got back to Rehman, he called.
On the 6♣5♦2♥ flop, Rehman checked and then folded to a bet of 9,000 from Gonta.
Marcin Kacprzak came in with a raise to 1,000 from early position before Martin Surovec three-bet the button to 3,400. Once the blinds folded, Kacprzak opted to call.
The dealer spread out a flop of 7♠9♦10♠, and Kacprzak decided to start out by leading for 2,500. Surovec just called.
After the 4♦ fell on the turn, Kacprzak led out again, this time for 12,500. Once again, Surovec just called.
The 9♥ completed the board and Kacprzak went into the tank, pondering whether to check or bet. After almost two minutes, he elected to check. Surovec checked behind and Kacprzak turned over king-high with K♣Q♦. Surovec had that beat with Q♣Q♥and he took down the pot.
With 20,000 in the middle on a board of 5♠2♣3♦Q♣, Yaroslav Ohulchanskyi checked from middle position and faced a bet of 12,000 by Anton Markachev, who was seated in the cutoff. Ohulchanskyi paused briefly before making the call.
A 9♦ completed the board and both players checked. Ohulchanskyi showed the winner with 9♥9♣ for a set of nines, and the pot was sent his way.
Markus Yamaci opened to 1,200 from under the gun and Ratmir Kesidis called in the hijack. Robert Blaauwgeers squeezed to 5,100 in the cutoff, which only Yamaci called.
On the 4♠2♦A♠ flop, Yamaci check-called a bet of 2,500 from Blaauwgeers to the A♣ turn, where both checked.
A K♠ hit the river and Yamaci led for 10,000, which Blaauwgeers called.
Yamaci quickly turned over a flush holding Q♠J♠, and Blaauwgeers mucked.
Maor Zaharagi came with a raise to 900 from middle position before Urmo Velvelt, who was the 2024 WSOPE Main Event runner-up, three-bet to 3,000 from the button. Zaharagi stuck around with a call.
A monotone flop of 5♣2♣6♣ came down and Zaharagi checked the action over to Velvelt, who fired out a bet of 1,000. Zaharagi called.
The A♠ hit the turn and Zaharagi decided to check-fold after Velvelt tossed out a second barrel of 5,000.
On a flop of 4♦2♥J♥, Bastian Dohler checked from the cutoff and Daniele Sacchi bet 3,000 on the button. Dohler then raised to 8,000, and Sacchi quickly called.
A 9♣ fell on the turn and Dohler bet 12,000, which again Sacchi called to the 5♥ river. Dohler gathered chips and put a bet of 32,000 together before placing it across the line, and Sacchi took around 30 seconds before he called.
Dohler then flipped a flush with 10♥6♥, and Sacchi mucked.
Max Schoch raised to 1,000 from middle position and Claudio Daffina called out of the hijack. Selim Cimen squeezed it up to 3,500 from the cutoff, and only Schoch called to see a flop.
The dealer fanned out a flop of 5♠5♣A♦ and Schoch check-called a bet of 2,200 by Cimen.
A 3♣ hit the turn and both players checked for the 7♣ to complete the board. Schoch bet 8,500, which was enough to get Cimen to fold.
Juraj Palatinus opened the hijack to 1,200 and Viktor Blom came in with a three-bet to 3,800 in the cutoff. Once it got back to Palatinus, he called.
On the Q♥6♣J♦ flop, Palatinus elected to lead with a bet of 5,100, which Blom quickly called to the Q♠ turn. Palatinus showed no signs of slowing down and quickly threw out 7,000, which was enough to make Blom fold.
