Last year at King’s Resort, Simone Andrian took down the coveted 2024 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event bracelet and a career-best score of €1,300,000.

Andrian became the 15th player in history to win the WSOPE Main Event, triumphing over a field of 768 entrants. He ultimately defeated Urmo Velvelt in a gripping heads-up duel that lasted over three hours and saw the chip lead change hands multiple times.

“It’s amazing. By far the biggest score of my career. I couldn’t be more happy” he said following his victory. "I’ve been playing here a lot and to have that kind of score here feels special.”

Intiso and Pflock Tangle

Level 1 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Matteo Intiso
Matteo Intiso

Pascal Pflock just tangled in a pot with Matteo Intiso, who just won a bracelet in Event #11: €777 No-Limit Hold’em Lucky 7’s a few days ago.

The board read Q9J63 and with 40,000 in the middle, Intiso bet 51,000 from the big blind. Pflock was under the gun and after a while he decided to fold, which meant Intiso took the pot.

It's not all bad news for Pflock, though, as he is still well up from the start stack and has around 160,000 to play with.

Savino Squeeze Some Chips out of Sama

Level 1 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Iago Savino
Iago Savino

Three players saw the turn on a board of 10842 and with around 15,000 in the middle. Jakub Sterba checked the small blind before Iago Savino fired out 8,000 from the big blind. Naveen Sama called out of the cutoff, but Sterba folded.

Heads-up to the J river where Savino pushed out a bet of 14,000. Sama, who was visibly troubled in the face of this bet, thought it over for a minute or so before electing to call.

Savino flipped over QJ for a pair of jacks on the river, which won him the pot as Sama mucked his cards.
