2025 WSOP Europe
With around 40,000 in the pot on a 5♥2♥9♦ flop, Antonello Ferraiuolo bet 18,300 from under the gun and Valeri Gonta called from the next seat. Remigiusz Wyrzykiewicz was in middle position and he shoved for 113,900.
Ferraiuolo quickly folded, but Gonta went into the tank and contemplated for a few moments more. Eventually, Gonta also passed, which gave Wyrzykiewicz the pot and a stack of around 190,000.
Three-way on a flop of 2♦9♣K♦, Ian Simpson in middle position bet 2,000 and he was called by the €25,000 GGMillion€ champion Shaun Deeb on the button. Claudio Daffina in the small blind however check-folded.
Both Simpson and Deeb checked the 3♦ turn leading to the 4♦ river that they quickly checked again.
Simpson flipped over Q♥J♠, but Deeb had top pair with K♥J♥ and scooped the pot.
Aleksei Vandyshev raised to 1,000 from middle position before Johann Schamne three-bet to 3,000 from the button. When it got back to Vandyshev, he four-bet to 10,000. Schamne five-bet jammed, and Vandyshev called for his stack of 40,000.
Aleksei Vandyshev: A♦K♠
Johann Schamne: J♠J♦
It was a flip that would either see Vandyshev double up to almost starting stack or be headed to the rail.
The dealer produced a low runout of 8♣9♦3♣9♠2♣, keeping Schamne's pocket jacks ahead the whole way, and Vandyshev was sent to the showers.
With around 55,000 in the pot on a board of 3♦2♥6♥K♠7♣, Giorgio Prestes checked from under the gun and Vladas Tamasauskas bet 51,500 from the next seat over.
Prestes was in tank for some time that his tablemates eventually called the clock, and he was given a 30-second countdown. With just 2 seconds to go, Prestes called.
Tamasauskas then showed top set with K♦K♣, and Prestes mucked his hand.
Heads-up to the J♠Q♦8♣ flop, where Marcello Miniucchi, who was sat in the big blind, check-called Ferdinando D'alessio's bet of 2,500 from early position.
Check, check came after the 3♠ turn to see the 5♦ complete the board. D'alessio checked for the last time and Miniucchi fired out 10,500. This was enough to force D'alessio to fold, and Miniucchi won the pot.

Four players saw the flop of 6♥K♥7♦ fall, where, after two checks, Viktor Blom bet 2,800 from middle position. Campbell Ashton called on the button, Jose Scarano called out of the big blind, and Peter Cieslik folded from under the gun.
After Scarano checked for a second time on the Q♦ turn, Blom bet 12,500. Ashton called and Scarano folded.
Upon seeing the 2♥ peel off on the river, Blom quickly jammed for 62,100. Ashton thought about it for a while before electing to fold and relinquish the pot to Blom.
Day 1a of the 2025 WSOPE Main Event is off to a quick start with 336 entries already on the board during Level 2. Last year this flight finished with 507 entries before 331 players bagged up chips for Day 2, contributing to a total field of 768.
With late registration open until the end of Level 12 on Day 2, the early pace suggests another big turnout is in store at King’s Resort.
